When you will have a working unit, you are going to forget all about the hassle... it's such a great piece of hardware! My unit wouldn't turn on with batteries at all when I got it. So I was really disappointed, but I could play it with an AC adaptor. Doing this for quite a while I suddenly discovered that batteries started to work perfectly...
So now I am soo glad that I got it... I hope you are going to enjoy it as much as I am!
I don't have an AC adapter and I do fine. I've upgrade the firmware 4 times and I've upgraded the U-boot once and they work fine; Just make sure they are fully charged when you attempt to upgrade your firmware or u-boot.Batman2 posted on Mar 26 2006 at 12:52 PM said:Is it really essential to have a AC Adaptor for your GP2X as surely a pair of fully charged 2600NiMH batteries should be enough for most tasks.
