Well, i am sorry to have disappointed you. For whom or what this behavior is typical, we'll probably never know, but i trust you perceive nationalism in anyone who mentions something bad about your country and also happens to disagree with you in a completely unrelated matter. So i guess it is typical for people with a different opinion than yours.

You are saying that the effect of cyberbullying should be fought by compassion and defending the victims. This is exactly what i meant when i spoke about dependance on appreciation and popularity.
Perhaps expecting people to not take everything others say about them seriosly is asking too much.
For me, it works. This is why i am not easily offended on the internet. Where people seldomly have to face consequences for what they say, they will spout a lot of garbage. So why even bother? I guess some people just love feeling offended.
So, enjoy your moral high ground.
I do not care a whole lot about morality, for me it's the results that matter more.
I'll just enjoy being able to use the internet unaffected by trolling.
