So my GPD microPC is 1 years old (plus the time in stock, I guess).
I haven't used it in while, so I plugged t to the PSU and kept it that way for about a day.
Is the charge LED supposed to change color/turn of when fully charged?

Disconnecting it from the charger resulted in about 10min runtime before turning off.

I guess the battery might be dead, but as far is my searching went, there is n source for a replacement.

So what is the best path to choose from here?

ED used to sell them, but out of stock now:

I think this is the same but double the price:

I was wondering, if that is for sure a dead battery, or if it may be some other problem.

As for the battery: it s at least free shipping worldwide. But it might be an idea to order directly from aliexpress, where that batteries seem to come from anyways.

Or just find the right LiPoly size and swap the cable from the old one.

I think the GPD MicroPC was notoriuos for draining the battery while off, which will impact the battery health. You can fully charge again and see how it goes, but I guess it will again be 10min.

But then the battery protection circuit must have been bad too. Otherwise that one would have cut the power above a certain threshold. That would mean to look into building a batterypack with a good protection circuit would be the path to choose, right?

You can always charge till 100% and let it drain to 0% and charge for half a day so it's full for sure. To recalibrate the battery.
Update all GPD drivers which might contain fixes.
If the battery is bad not much can be done except replace it. And done store it too long without charging.
