GPD Win (x86 Computer / Palmtop)

So, I received an email from DragboxBox in the early hours of this morning (3:21 AM, UK time) asking me to complete my pre-order, which I just did. So that should seal the deal for a GPD-WIN making its way to me in the next 5 or so days (assuming the units pass ED's inspection). Exciting time.

I got an email today from Kendy at GPD. Seems my review GPD WIN shipped via DHL yesterday. I checked the DHL tracking number and it seems to work which is good.
Looks like it's coming from Hong Kong

I really hope the Pyra will be able to play MC well. I've heard lots of speculation but we just won't really know until we get one it seems.
It should work alright, seeing how with a little tweaks the 1Ghz Pandora can run it.

Hoping he can test Tera Online and Vindictus for me.
My Win won't be shipping from DinoDirect until November and I've no idea when in November, so I could very well just receive it late December or something :/

Hi ED,

I received a message yesterday that my GPD Win is on the way and that I should receive a further message including a UPS (in my case) tracking number later the same day. Do I have to be worried not having received a tracking number as of yet?

Thx

No :) Due to the massive amount of units I have to ship and the fact that DHL Express delievered it 1 hour before UPS picks my packages up, there have been "Shipped"-emails (which means I've printed the label and packaged it) but they have not all been picked up yet.
These will ship today, so you should receive your UPS mail later tonight.

How many orders to date have you gotten for the GPD WIN?

If anyone with a GPD Win could boot some Linux live system on the GPD Win and post the output of lspci and lsusb here, that would be awesome!

Well my Review GPD WIN arrived today. Pic below

Here is everything in the box.

1) Pamphlet describing all the ports etc

2) Screen protector

3) Ear phones

4) US Plug with USB type A output. Output 5V at 2.5A

5) USB type C to USB type A cable, used to connect to the US plug above via the USB type A end. Connects to the WIN via the Type C end

6) The GPD WIN. Has a bit of removable sticky tape protecting the Logo. Why, who knows

The feel and quality is really good. Feels a quality product. Controls and sticks feel comfortable to reach and use.

I'm glad they went with sticks rather than nubs, although that came at a price of them not being clickable

Keyboard keys are a lot easier to press than I thought, simply because of the rounded design of them. On a similar keyboard I have , the keys are roughly the same size but It's easy to hit neighbouring keys. On the WIN the curve of the keys make a big difference. Still takes focus not to hit neighbouring keys though.

The left indentation is as you'd expect, not good. It causes you to use a different grip with your right hand to type (ie to reach the centre of the letter keys). But once you get the hang of it, it's ok.
[doublepost=1477624569,1477618531][/doublepost]It's easily pocketable, which is good to see.

Weight is exactly 368 grams

Is that paint? Too shiny, make sure to give that bad boy lots of pocket time when not in use to tone it down a bit.
[doublepost=1477626981,1477626802][/doublepost]...I meant "to test how comfortable it is for carrying around in a pocket all the time". Since you keep calling it a review unit I am guessing they want it back undamaged.

It's pretty nice, and the inclusion of a screen protector is great, trough I'd have prefered to have it factory installed... there's always at least one random speck of dust under mine when done by myself... guess the win will not make exception there :D
