GP32 Screen: Scratched!

I have found the best way of not scratching it it not to wipe the screen unless completely necessary... Mine has a few thumb prints on it but I can live with that!

I got a new one from GBAX.com and it's crystal clear....thousand times better than my old screen....just remember to peel the film of BOTH sides : )

I just got my new screen from GBAX - not installed it yet but can see that only one side has a plastic removable protector, and the other side does seem a bit scratchy/cloudy... but anyway I'll put it in later and see how it goes (at work atm)

Have a look very closely at the screen. That cloudy side more than likely will have a plastic film on it that should be peeled off, but it can be very hard to spot.

Nope- I'm positive. there's only film on one side and have peeled it back slightly and it's not at all clear. bummer

might get in touch with Craig see if this is right

basically get rid of the anti glare layer then it looks 100000x better + well i never take my gp32 into consideration when taking it with me + its not scratched at all though it looked terrible when the anti glare layer was on b4

I've found that keeping your handheld (NGPC, GBA, GP32, whatever) in a small pouch when not using it keeps your screen safe. Also, clean the screen with the same kind of fabric that is used to clean lenses and such.

I have kept mine in a pouch since I got it and used my lens cleaner on it, yet the screen has got the purple gear 'scratched' off it...

I'm convinced that some screens are more prone to this happening than others

anyway I'm pissed and don't care right now....

Yeah when I got a replacement screen the film covering it removed some of the purple anti reflective coating making it looking a right mess. A tin of thinners and a cloth + 1 hour later and I now have a completely clear (although a little shiny) screen which is a massive improvement over the original as it isn't as dark.

On replacing my screen (looks so much better now, i got to thinking, the bottom "ridged" screen that fits into the flu strip, what if a newb was trying to replace the screen and scratched this one?, can replacements be purchased for this one?

Ive had my gp32 since chrismas and it seems to have a sort of greasy layer on the screen and it wont come off :( , where can i get a glass one its sounds great

Ps, is it safe?

No it cant! If you fucked that up (Like me ;)), you cant buy a 30p replacement, you have to buy some AR film (witch is only available to industy, so you have to buy loads) and a new plain screen (preferably glass)

@godgnome - You can get a glass one cut from your local framers for about £1. It isn't risky, so long as you take your time and be sure to wipe away any dust before putting it back together.
