Hmm, i wonder.. is there a GP32 demo scene?
is anyone other than me working on demos for the GP32?

I wonder if any of the groups that have released demos for the GP32 (Aardbei, Hitmen) are working on new demos? There have been a couple of nice releases, but no group have released more than one demo yet.

Noice will own then, with 3! demos..:D
or two if we doa co-op..:D

I hope it picks up, looking at demos was my favourite hobby on my Amiga and ST. I'm having to download ST demos 'cause there aren't many on the GP

What exactly are demos?? Are they things that are just showing off routines and that stuff? Or what?

Never heard about the demoscene?!
jesus..:D
well, it's kinda complicated actually..
a kind of old phenomenon, it started back when ppl cracked c64 games (afaik) and added some information about who cracked the game etc, and over time
that evolved into bigger things with effects, showing off what they could do with their machine.
And after a while i guess ppl didn't care much about the cracked game and they started producing demos, with great effects, music and art.
That was 15+ years ago.
and it still keeps going.

that short (probably wrong, as lots of ppl will flame me) explanation is not really fair, since it's so much more to it.
But it's a start.

more demo's would really show off what is possible in terms of 3d

i want to make a demo, but it's more likely to be just a few seperate routines, depends on how much time i can give to it

Can someone point me in the direction of the Demos please? I've heard there are some, but cannot seem to find them - Even a few would be nice.

On the subject of Demos, and the scene. Where has the PC scene gone? (Not that I believe it's actually GONE, as it were.)

I used to DL a load yonks ago, and have finally (Well, for about a year and a half now) have a PC that's up to spec! (And all the upgrades over the last year too! Jees!)... But the site (Don't have it any more) I used to go to has gone.

Is there a "main" site for the demoscene now that has the latest demos?

Hey hey - I visited Pouet not so long ago, but the site looks like a mess so didn't really look that hard. Monostep is cool though - Many thanks to you all :)

It's not lazy... The site (Which both no longer exists and I cannot remember what it was anyway) I used to go to was clean, neat and had up to date info on the new demos... All the sites now-a-days are messy and seem to be more interested about telling you about crud rather than what the site is supposed to. (And other sites that just LUUURVE bleeding adverts!)

Mithris and Sdw are you in a demo group? If yes which one.

As for me I am also an old scener from the C-64 ;-), I started to do my first intro/demo in 1989 using the power of an 6510 and the VIC chip and dont forget the 6581! Try a bit on Amiga but it was much more complex and difficult.

But now back to our GP32 everything get simple again, so I have very big interest in it. I was happy to see some old folks like Hitmen do some stuff on it (hmmm I dunno if some of them remember me from Empire ;-)).

I might re-awaken Empire on the GP32.

Intruder/Empire (also previously in Optic Vision, The Wanted)

Ah! A fellow C64 veteran!

Both I and Mithris are in the group Noice (www.noice.org).
I started out on the C64 in 1988, was a member of Triad before I joined Noice. After the C64, I did some Amiga stuff, and then PC.
