Apparently they only have about 100 units left and no more will be produced. I know the gp2x is on it's way but is still makes me kinda sad to hear that the gp32 is dead.

but the gp32 will never die!
indeed a night in the airing cupboard fixed mine from the encounter with james aged 3.5 and a glass of orange juice.

Glad to hear it's still working.

GP32 will live on as long as there's a single working unit in existance... as a matter of fact mine is just about to go on a trip to find others of it's kind to kill and drink in their life energy.... there can be only ONE, and it will be MINE!

MUHWAHAHAHHAHHAAHAHAHHA.

Sorry it's late. I'm just going to go to bed and deny I just typed that.

Dreamcast didn't have a successor.

AAAND www.dreamcast-scene.com was on the last Games Convention, which shows that DC is definitelly not dead!

that is kind of sad

and i never did try and get a BLU

but my FLU has served me well for the.. 2 (?) yrs I have had it.

I still love the thing (that and ipod are my favorite toys) and I hope we see continued support for GP32, at something approaching the level we've been having (which has been, all things considered, pretty remarkable)

I am not planning on upgrading to the next unit anytime soon.. maybe after a bunch of time has passed, and I can afford/justify it. But for what it's worth, in all my years of gaming (uh... on and off for like 23 yrs?) the GP32 has definitely had a very unique place in my history, and i'll appreciate it for what it was, and all of you scenesters/devvers/posters for being involved as well.

keep chuggin' along little GP..

It's been said before, but as long as people still use it then it won't die. I don't plan on upgrading anytime soon - the GP32 took a long time before people started making it into what is now, and I expect the same for the X2.

I never said it did. I am just saying that even though it is not made anymore it still has an active scene, as in not dead.

The only game I liked for the Dreamcast was Omikron: The Nomad Soul. Was an Awesome PC game too.
you only liked 'one' game for the dreamcast??? i think you should have a look through it's back catalogue. It was and still is and awesome machine which still looks good next to a xbox or ps2 with the right game behind it.

And that the only game he liked was Omikron? I have it for PC and while I thought it was "okay" it was hardly as cool as many of DCs non ports. I gave up after making it to the second city because the weird camera angles where starting to give me motion sickness.

Wow, goity, you sure do have a great choice in games!
BTW, Kingdom hearts rocks! (I will be purchasing kingdom hearts 2 at its release unless it gets EXTREMELY bad reviews)

I still play Omikron for the PC, but it runs a hell of of a lot sweeter on it than the DC version did. Omikron 2: Karma is now in production for the PS3 / XBox.

I wish some of the older DOS ports for Tomb Raider and Dungeon Keeper could be ported to the GP32. That would be great. I think Omikron would be possible for the GP2X, but only with a MASS of optimizations, super amount of rewritten code and with a 1gb SD card holding it.
