Release Gish

What did you expect ?

While Gish sources are open, the data is completly copyrighted (and the company is still selling that : http://www.chroniclogic.com/gish.htm). Pickle isnt allowed to distribute that.
TBH, I didn't know that, as I'd never even heard of Gish before, and it's not immediately apparent from the repo entry. I'm not complaining, just saying, it's not really that obvious if you have never heard of Gish before

Gish was part of the 1st humble indie bundle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humble_Bundle#Main_bundles).

Allow me to quote wikipedia :

As a result of reaching the US$1 million goal, the source code for the game engines for Gish, Penumbra, Lugaru, and, due to the overwhelming success, Aquaria, was made available under the GNU General Public License; art, music, and other creative assets for these games were not included.
more complete source : http://boingboing.net/2010/05/11/humble-indie-bundles.html
EDIT: btw, the link I gave in my previous post is #1 search result in google when looking for gish. googling gish game give you this as #1 : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gish_%28video_game%29. Wish also give you a status of the game...

Actually the code repository claims a minimal dataset (with 1 level) codenamed 'freegish'. I did expect to see this.

I have never heard of Gish before and therefore had a disappointment after the download too.

Well quit moping around and go buy it ;-)

Still don't know where to put which files. There is the main gish directory in appdata, and there is the .gish subdirectory. Which game files or folders do I have to copy where?!

Oh, it reeks of troll-shit ...

Ah, finally figured it out ... "them" is all the files and directories ... didn't think of that because it's kind of messy ...

data should be the same, you could in theory compile the original source for either build, so it would be what ever is convenient for you, dont you think?

I don't have sound and Gish flickers while moving (one animation replaced by a white square or something).

But otherwise the game runs well, thanks a lot!  :D

seems like SDL didnt kick and/or the cursor is flickering in the background. I have not had this problem. Sound has also worked, is your image up to date?

Yes, I am running v1.55. Gish is version 1.6 (Windows) and I copied all files and directories into appdata/gish.

Hm, I just copied the ogg files from the music folder to appdata/gish and now, music works. Seriously, can't you please tell us which files exactly to copy into appdata?!

From my windows version, I copied all files and directories from the PC in appdata/gish and everything seems to work fine execpt for the few bugs above.
