Well I have been frequenting this board for 6 months or so and have seen myself progress from really knowing very little to the point I am at now, where I sometimes am able to help others. I am aware that a lot of people know a lot more than me, but I'm damned if that's going to make me sheepish about participating in discussions etc here for fear of people raising a virtual eyebrow (or worse) at something I say.
This thread has given my confidence a bit of a bash as I would hope that people can be tolerant and mature about people who really are the fuel for the whole GP32 scene anyway, who wants a stagnant scene with no new users? I know just as well as the rest of us how annoying some questions can be but nobody forces you to read posts, and the idiocy of the question can often be hinted at in the title so don't click it (Moderators move it to a "Newbie" Section with a definative answer?). There's a responsibility on new users to abide by 'the rules' but there's an equal one on every one of us to resist being drawn into discussions which really degrade our own commmunity here at GP32X...
Stupid questions and playground folklore are the essence of the sort of "viral marketing" which can only drive people to talk and find out about the GP32 more and more, which must be good.
Just my thoughts, I know this thread was started in a light-hearted fashion anyway and I'm sure we are all painfully aware of when and where we were first "n00bs"...
...bracing MYSELF now for the flames...
