For all you paranoid people here, the new update will require you to flash U-Boot.

I've flashed mine at least a dozen times already. Bring it on :p

It requires a card that can flash Uboot (basically the method you use to flash firmware with the img in the SD)

Not that big of a deal for me, but I forsee a lot of bricking....

I think that's a good thing as they fixed some bugs in that area.
Did I say something scary

I'm not scared because I won't feel bad returning a bricked gp2x if I bricked it flashing it with a commercially endorsed firmware .

That or it will motivate me to build a bob with jtag .

What does extension of using time mean ?? Just better battery life ?

That would be great, just bought some 2600mHa batteries. Think it's also great, the boot time is shorter... everything is great!

I don't suppose there's any chance of the Open2X/art103 uboot working with the new firmware?

I like my 'Boot from SD card' option.

The update will be compatible with those who are currently using fastboot, but you won't be able to keep your U-Boot if you've got a custom one.

I have tried the beta of fw 2.0. This will be a revolution for GP2X. Super fast boot time 8-6 seconds, samba server, web server, extended usb host support, usb network and much more... Wait for 27th of May. B)
