Fba2x - Finalburn Alpha Beta 7.3

Hmmm. I love Dogyuun, Batsugun and a heap of other Toaplan shooters but they are all missing sound. It seems like the driver simply doesn't support sound (yet) for these. What a bummer! These are really nice shooters!

Anyone else like these?

Yeah I'm a big shmup fan too Slaneesh was disappointed that those don't work with sound. Also getting the aero fighters games all seem to support sound but have problems. I think mame4all will work with it but only without any asm cores enabled which is obviously slower.

Anyway Dogyuun is really cool I love the laser in that game. Toaplan made a lot of cool shooters. I both like and hate that Dogyuun will bring you back in the level if you die. It keeps it from being too easy playing on an emu since you can just throw as many quarters as you want but sometimes that can be frustrating.

I will upload the updated zipname and rominfo data for b73 tomorrow. If anyone has a current compatibility list they want me to follow so I can update the zipname file, I would be obliged.

Yeah I love the Taoplan shooters. I was so excited when they were playable in PC MAME about 9 years ago. Still to this day it seems that there's some nasty protection on the sound roms. At least I have them on my Sega Saturn. It's still fun to play in mame even with sound off.

I am a bit despaired. I do not understand create how a cache file to play Guwange. Can you explain me precisely which is the procedure to be followed? I do not understand these stages very well:
“5. Open the Command Prompt, and go to the FBACache directory”
“6. Type and enter "fbacache.exe -d [romname].zip" (no quotes, and [romname] is the ROM set's filename)”
Can you help me ?
Thanks

I checked fbacache and it has name/crc/size data in it so I'm not sure if it all has to match.

From what I can tell, it seems you have the "roms" folder in the wrong location; it should not be inside another ("fbacache") folder, and instead must also be in the "temp" folder. Both the fbacache.exe & "roms" folder should be located in the "temp" folder.

EDIT:
i.e.
C:\temp\fbacache.exe
C:\temp\roms\
C:\temp\roms\guwange.zip

Since you are using Windows Vista, follow these steps:
1. Click on Start Menu
2. Type "cmd" in the Instant Search box
3. Click on Command Prompt (cmd.exe)
4. Type "C:" in the Command Prompt
5. Type "cd\"
6. Type "cd temp"
7. Type "fbacache.exe -d guwange.zip"

EDIT: Clarifications & added another step

It's not really that different; it's just that I made it more specific to Vista. The only difference is how to launch the Command Prompt. ;)

Hi All,

I have an F200(b) running firmware 4.1.1. I've noticed in this version, I don't recall seeing it happen in the previous, that the screen seems to tear/flash randomly at times while on the game selection screen. This happens with and without any images in the preview folder.

Any ideas?

Scott

Yeah, this seems to be an issue in Capex. Both the Capex for FBA2X and CPS2emu have this problem. Even before I updated my F-200's firmware, I already experienced this on FW 4.0.0.

I always wondered what the cause was.

Can anyone who have the latest previews pack can upload/or direct me for a link to it ? I remember one uploaded somewhere around here before but I can't find it.

By the way what are your experiences with Jumping Pop ? It is far away from being playable even with overclocking for me. I was delighted to see it on the comp.list but...

Thanks

Hi everyone!

I've just noticed that the compatibility list for version 7.3 is on the archive.. (yeah I know.. I'm more than one month late...) was WORKING/NOT WORKING status updated? or are the new (post 7.1) entries untested?

I'm asking because I can test the previously not working roms.. and update the list I've compiled for version 7.1.. :)
