There was something rattling about in my GP2X and it was annoying me so i opened it up to see what it was, turns out a a C106 capacitor has fell off but the unit still seems to function normally (though i haven't tried USB, DC, or EXT), has this happened to anyone else?

I assume the capacitor was there for a reason, do you think Craigix would accept it as a warranty return for repair even though i opened it or am i on my own?

Look in the forums (use your friend search)

I read an exact post like yours, someone also find out that their was a capacitor that fall off his GP2X (probably a bad soldering) and also his GP2X was still functionning normally, but still wanted to put it back just in case. And he was able to find out where they was missing one with some picture people post in the forums. You just need a good iron to do that kind of precise jobs and also have good hand skill ;-).

Same thing happened to me, I also saved the capacitor and am currently in the process of getting something done about it? I've just started talking to those I purchased it from as far as where to go from here. I'm sure there won't be any problems.
