Here are some links to source code for some common emus for the GP2X (obviously ones already in development like MAME etc aren't included). Feel free to add to the list but please GP2X source only, PC sources require much more work, this list was for quick and "easy" ports.

These are also "wishes" for Wiz ports

GNGEO super fast NeoGeo emu (runs more games smoother than MAME) : https://developer.berlios.de/project/showfi...p?group_id=6986

Final BurnAlpha, Great arcade emu: http://www.geocities.com/dcancilier@sbcglo...et/fba72src.zip

GPLynx - fast Atari Lynx Emu: http://www.geocities.com/dcancilier@sbcglobal.net/lynx.zip

ZX81's site. Treasure trove of source code for older classic systems such as Atari 2600, Amstrad, Coleco etc. http://zx81.zx81.free.fr/serendipity/index...es/38-Emulators

Atari 800 computer: http://www.scrameta.net/a800.html

Atari 2600 emu, Stella: http://stella.sourceforge.net/development.php

UAEfor all Amiga emu: http://criticalhippo.googlepages.com/uae4allgp2x

XMESS emu by Telengard (includes ColecoVision emu with better sound than the ZX81 version) Wiki has broken link use this: http://home.comcast.net/~bsturk/gp2x.html

And of course this big wiki list although the Lynx source is not here: http://wiki.gp2x.org/wiki/Software_Directory

I'm probably one of the few that wants the nec pc98 nekoprojectII emulator ported from the GP2X. Not sure if that's ever going to happen.

PC98 was the greatest machine (for game-wise) because it was the most popular machine in Japan in 80s and 90s.
It used NEC customised CPU but later it used Intel and can run Windows also.
(Actually, it might be superior to the Sharp X68000 for variation of genre of games. IMHO)

Many famous/known japanse games (mostly RPGs) even today are started its first stage on PC98 (or at least converted for PC98 with better graphics) and I believe the 'Neko Project' is the only avaliable 'Working emulation project' for PC98 and it is alomost perpectly emulate PC98 (for intel-based PC)

and yes geise69, you are not only one who want NEC PC98 emulator B)

Yeah the NEC PC98 was a great computer. I still own mine. I bought one about 10 years ago. It has some really great games. I would say the x68000 was better spec wise, but I just liked a lot of games more on the PC98. There was also the PC88. I can't remember if there was a PC88 emu for the GP2x. I know there was on the PSP. I can't remember the name. A NEC PC98 emu with touchscreen support would be very nice.

Nincest64-GP2X: (Very primitive Nintendo 64 Emulator that only ran 2 tech demos but it was a START and although i know it could never be perfect even without sound altogether I think the Wiz, with its faster processor as well as a much higher and faster overclocked speed {check out battertest at the wiz archive site, everybody is reporting 700-800 mhz} PLUS a separate 3D accelerator, this could very well amount into much more than just 2 PD demos)

I don't think you understand that performance and compatibility are almost completely unrelated.

thanks for that. Sounds pretty cool il be sure to try it out if it becomes available

It's coming, real soon.

Speaking of which (sorta), I'm still wondering if there's anywhere I can buy an ext to USB cable for Wiz. The one that's supposed to come with the retail units.

Yeah Temper would be great!

As for the cable maybe ask Evil Dragon maybe he has a few around. I guess they don't sell separately yet. How do you charge the Wiz without that cable?

Actually, they will ask directly to GPH. When I'll know something more, I'll tell you...

I'll ask ED when I see him. I'm still having some issues, they're probably my fault though.. I thought of some other things and I'll look at it again tonight. Once I get this video issue sorted I'll be ready to release, cross your fingers for one tonight.

I have a BoB and it gets power okay, and does alright powering the Wiz. Sorta anyway, when it's fully drained it sometimes has a hard time maintaining enough power to not reboot.

Right now, my Windows and Linux computers are both detecting something on USB, but with "this device is malfunctioning" rather than correctly detecting the hardware. Did anyone have to install drivers or something??

I don't know nothing about BoB though, usually Windows detect USB drivers as 'malfunctioning' when it was not supplied enough power. Usually it's solved with supplying external power but I shame Wiz have other external power connector. (on Dev board maybe?)

Mine detects the wiz right away (cable) and shows up as an external drive. I didn't install anything.

Some issues may be due to it being an earlier Wiz not sure.
