I havnt seen or read anything about this, but basically is the hardware been tested to some standard for EMC like the FCC standards?

Yes it appears so the sticker on the back is labeled that is was done.

This is one of the decent things government has done. It kind of important devices meet a standard and dont radiate EMC all over the place.
WTF EMC? are you talking about electromagnetic waves? Which frequency? The LCD display will certainly emit a lot of them, in the visible spectrum frequency, and wifi and BT in invisible spectrum.Pickle said:(Pandora) ...... dont radiate EMC all over the place.

Yes electromagnetic waves, you dont want some part of the hardware giving off a frequency that interferes with something like the WIFI or BT. That would be a extreme example, but the point is the device should follow some rules so that theres not the potienal it would intere with other devices.
All I want to know is if testing is planned under some standard, not argue the pros and cons of EMC testing.
Update: This sums of the point of EMC testing:
Operation is subject to the following conditions:
1. The devices may not cause harmful interference, and
2. The devices must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation
No, an extreme example would be the Pandora accidentally killing the user via reconfiguring there pace maker ( http://www.jonbarron.org/blog_published/20...er_hacking.html )Pickle said:Yes electromagnetic waves, you dont want some part of the hardware giving off a frequency that interferes with something like the WIFI or BT. I thought that was simple a matter of Sony going through the courts stating there trademarks were being infringed upon, and nothing to do with CE marks?x68000 said:Just ask craig who knows all about that after the PSP Japanese import debacle.
