YOU WANT BLOOD? DAMN YOU! Buy Eee or so...
Let's talk serious:
How about THE LOST VIKINGS? Can't wait! Yummy...
Two things comes to my mind: AGS ( www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk )
It will be fun to make new games, DOS/Linux flavour!
...and don't forget about hundreds of free, community made games! ("5 Days a Stranger" anybody?)
and another one is GEOS aka NewDeal Office aka GeoWorks Ensemble; (www.breadbox.com)
It is closed source, but I believe that some versions are let free... "Ensemble lite" as I remember correctly!
It should work almost at 286 as I remember!
However, there are free/open source DOS GUI alternatives: Seal, f.e.

And, I want to see Arachne (DOS web browser) in action: imho, it is one of the best written software ever!
I remember browsing at pages with jpegs, frames & animated gifs at my 386; author said that with proper ram-disk of few mB (khkh how about 256mB ram?) it could be run from 286... And it is also web authoring tool and file browser at the same time... something like prehistoric Konqueror... :blink:
...and FastTrackerII... lol that was days...
and just come to my mind: There was awesome DOS multiplayer game Advanced NetWars, included in free download DRDOS or OPENDOS version;
as I remember, it was possible to play 6 real players against 6 AI (in IPX LAN); space 3D simulation, with space ship editor included (so you can flight your very own design)... EGA graphic, run on 386.
It could be nice if that could be driven from DOSBOX via wi-fi or so... :rolleyes:
