I'm sorry to say this but i am quite dissapointed with the commercial games being released for the GP32, kimchiman is quite good.. but there is not much else except for user made stuff ( emulators and such ) i am not seeing games as good as some GBA games hell not even 3D games. I hope this thing gets released in the UK as it will make many developers make great games.. and i hope that happens before its too late

What particular games do you not like? From the Pinball Dreams, Blood Cross, Super Plusha and Her Knights demos, I can say that they do not suck. And I own Little Wizard and Dungeon and Guarder, they are great games.

I think it's the fact that its been around for almost 3 years and it only has a half dozen really good games. There isnt much depth in the line up, atleast nothing thats fully in english.

But this is because Gamepark is a small company, They dont have the clout or the money to pull in huge developers... There are some great games on the way but the developers of those games dont have much money either.

Let's wait and see, the euro launch could change things.

I dont no about little wizard and dungeon gaurder being a good game... But as of PinBall Dreams, its an outstanding game

i was always kind of under the impression that the whole commercial aspect of the GP32 was really just a smokescreen anyway - that it's real purpose was to be serving the HB/Dev community. which is of course a shame considering the power it has, it's truly a waste in that regard.

as it is, and as far as it looks like it's ever going to potentially be, the GP32 will never be anywhere in the realm of of commercial viability the likes of which the GBA enjoys. So as usual, "if you want great commercial stuff, get a GBA" -- again I say it's sad, as it really is quite a capable machine.

Maybe if it ever got any real clout in the Korean market we'd have seen some more development on that front, but it was obviously never really intended to have Western-style games developed for it. The Euro launch could, of course, change all this but -- too little too late, you know?

--EDIT-- when's the Euro launch supposed to be anyway?

What western style games are you expecting? NFL, NBA and FPS(we have plenty of FPS)? If it had some more RPGs or if the korean company that owns SNK came on board it'd start looking like a serious system.

But I also think some of it's more familiar technical issues that make some companies frown on the system, things like the audible pop in native games sound tracks and the limited ram are things they dont want to deal with.

technical, shmehcnical.. no one of the "big boys" wants to supprt it cause it's got no market share. nobody has the thing! no market share = no sales, and it's expensive to make games. and obviously gamepark's never been terribly concerned with getting much visibility. If it did it would just get lambasted for the strong emu scene it's got and that would be the end of that.. it's a catch 22 really...

At the end of the day, when you can spend an evening (like I just did) playing a couple of hours of Mercenary (on an Atari 800) and few levels of Super Mario World (on a SNES) and a couple of levels of Doom, what do you need commercial games for?

Alpha, u say her knights is not in English.. Well, Im playing it now and have done about 5 levels and still not a line of korean (except the title).....

I guess the english version is out now???

It isn't officially english, someone made an english patch for it (I believe it's even downloadable from this site for people with the Korean version). I have an english version of Dyhard but that dosent mean the developer translated it it for a euro release yet.

I'd love to See Mil translated, thats one of those must have games with lots of depth.

The only game that I've been disappointed with so far, and it has been the only one I've paid for... Dungeon and Guarder. The english translation isn't top notch but it proves amusing at times. The gameplay isn't anything special, golden axe had more power ups and combo's. It just feels mundane to play.

I bought my GP32 from GBAx - I've been playing the 15 day programming competition games, some of them are excellent. All from the lovely CD craig sent with my FLU :)

I am looking to buy another GP32 game from JoyGP but unless you can recommend something that is going to keep me entertained, I'm afraid I'll be sticking with Emu's.

I have the strong feeling that even the european release (if it ever happens) won't change its situation. Look: peoples have bought millions of GBAs, there are tons of games for it, ninstuff is a big company and there are loads of developers... What is the chance, for such a small company, and an almost never-heard-of handheld, to fight against a well established company and its army of devrs ?? I love my gp32 a lot, we love it all, and I hope all the best for gamepark but it seems like it's far too late now. 3 years and only a bunch of games seems very little, no ?

Lets be honest here. How many of us bought the GP32 for the flashy looking commercial games? Not many I bet.

I bought one so I could play all the games I played as a youth on the speccy, c64 Amiga (OK I play the ST versions but there is very little difference usually) and the SMS. The other emulators are a bonus.

As an ex c64 developer I have absolutely no worries about anyone playing the couple of games I was involved with on the frodo emulator. In fact it makes me proud to think a game I designed 16 years ago can still give people enjoyment.

I bought it with no patch or anything and its 100% english bar the title

It's the Korean style I guess. Personally if people want commercial stuff, i'd advice they steer clear of the GP. I bought purely for EMU's, divx and MP3's

I also bought it for the emulators, divx player and to program it myself.
The only game I bought is Pinball Dreams, because it's just damned good and has the same addiction as the version for the Amiga and PC had about 8-10 years ago!
