Did I post my topic in the wrong section?

Not necessarily wrong, just tired. That tree has been barked up a lot in the last few months. We get it, there's a desire for an x86 (or more accurately, Windows) version of what the Pyra promises to be, but there's a lot of reasons that isn't going to happen soon.

You would need a BIOS too for an X86 architecture. Who's going to take care of it ? It won't create itself my magic...
I figured I covered all the problems, BIOS writing included, with "a lot of reasons that isn't going to happen soon". Did you want me to actually list all the reasons why EvilDragon chose ARM over x86?
The BIOS is actually one of the key problems way beyond the hardware issue. I'm not targeting my comment at you, but rather at the original poster who probably does not understand what's needed to have a x86 architecture in the first place.

Thank you again for your considered responses.

I appreciate that this developing project is under pressure and that there have been other questions similar to mine in the recent past that I was not aware of.

I am not in a hurry to obtain what I am seeking.

I have the impression that windows may support ARM processors: http://www.umpcportal.com/2015/04/post-pc-ultra-mobile-pc-and-very-very-disruptive-the-windows-10-continuum-demo-at-build-2015-was-mind-blowing/

Support yes, run the software you want most likely not.
also consider that Microsoft won't just let anyone buy the ARM version of Windows, it will most likely be sold to specific vendors and may only be geared for specific hardware.

^How exactly?

I know nothing about win10, but I was under the impression it would be impossible to get Windows onto any mobile device that isn't specifically designed and locked to it.
I remember hearing something about them releasing a Win10 for Raspberry Pi... Unless they remanufacture Pi's with special boot sequences, it *might* be possible to run it on the Pyra

There is this: https://www.raspberrypi.org/windows-10-for-iot/

Apparently there is an "insider's preview" version that can be downloaded and tested, which might be of interest.

Presumably it would be possible to have an RPi2 clone as a pyra processor module.

Possible, if not likely, or a good idea.
