Hi,

Not sure if this has been done before, but was wondering what desktop sounds you lot have, i.e. Here's the present sound I'm using for my email:
My Email

Or if you have any other nutty audio you want to share, stick it ere!

Here's an MP3 that usually has me rolling on the floor with laughter, purely coz of the memory of when I played it on full volume in my Xs flat when he fell asleep:
Wake Up.
You should have seen him

TTFN,
Clare.

I personally have different computers with roaming profiles. Depending on what I'm logged on as determines what I'm doing, i.e. If it's my programming environment, I have sounds enabled as I need to know what the computer will do when I do certain things to it. And there are people who have sounds enabled so I need to know if anything noisey will happen when it shouldn't
When I'm in my music creation profile, I need no sounds as they take up some CPU time, I need all CPU cycles for all the plug ins on Sonar etc.

Anyway, the main reason I started this was for the fun elliment of short sounds, not sure if you listened to the two MP3s I posted, but they crack me up! Just thought others may have little sounds that make them laugh too. Thought it could have been interesting!

One thought came to mind...Why doesn't Windows allow for formats other than WAV for "windows environment sounds"

I use Homer as my email sound: Homer

I haven't really customised the other sounds on my computer for a while so they are stuck on the XP defaults. Even the start up sound.

I have all desktop interface sounds turned off, Except the default email sound. I can`t stand the "start navigation" sound, That constant clickety click is bloody irritating, Like a dripping tap.

I agree with your thoughts on the internet Explorewr click sound, that really annoyes me. I'm in the middle of writing a sort of browser based chat environment, and it took me ages to figure out how to do a background javascript refresh that didn't cause the click event to be fired GRRRRR.

I've heard wake up before, we did the same thing to a mate that you did to your ex and it was awesomely funny!

Yeah it was funny :)

Almost as funny as this one. I was playing with a vocoder plugin, and sang the silly good morning song through it. It sounded soo fun that I wrote a 20 second long bit of music around it then played it down the phone at 7:30 on Sunday morning to Phil (My present fella). He was suitably impressed
GoodMorning.mp3 by Me!

When I was very young I can remember playing about with Dungeon Keeper desktop stuff, but it all annoys me now. I've even turned of my Trillian sounds. Also all sounds are quite pointless because I'm always listening to music.
