The sound driver on my computer got deleted by accident. I don't know what sound card I have, so I was wondering if their is a peice of software for WinXP that can identify what soundcard I have.

Thanks in advance.

Take the lid off of your computer and have a look inside. Is the sound card a separate card? or is it built in to your main board?

If its a seperate card take it out and have a good look at it, note done any code/model numbers you find and then search on google for them.

If its built in then find the model number of you mainboard, and then search on google for that model number.

or if you're using XP, does the card appear in the device list? maybe with a question mark by it? If it does, go in and "update driver" then choose to update over the internet (I forget the exact wording) and often this will just configure the driver for you.

if you're on an older pc, or not XP you probably have problems....
