º-.-º Comparing And Contrasting º-.-º

Pros: GP2x

1. Great 16 bit emulation.
2. BLU Screen/ backlit.
3. TV-out.
4. Very well designed.
5. 64 MB or Ram, 64 MB of flash, dual 200 mhz arm9 cpu.
6. SD cards
7. Price
8. Batteries

Cons:

1. Screen to exposed.
2. Won't see much in the way of PS1 emulation.
3. No USB host
4. Limited release of third party software

Pros: XGP

1. DMB, TV on the go.
2. WiFi and Internet browser.
3. Keypad - allows faster Internet browsing and chatting/hotkeys
4. Large widescreen screen/ good for anime
5. Foldable screen nicely protects while allowing it to stand at an angle to watch video.
6. PC game ports
7. ???PS1 emulation???
8. Well designed.
9. USB host
10. TV-out

Cons:

1. 200mhz ???? If this isn't changed/upgraded the machine is dead in the water
2. Not optimal for 16bit emulation.
3. Lithium Ion

We know nearly everything about the GP2x. On the other hand we know VERY little about the XGP. The suspected release date for the XGP is sometime late Q1, earl Q2 next year. By then the whole system could be re-done or scraped.
There is really not enough info to hypothesize about IS going to happen or what the system WILL or WON'T have, just speculation. Therefore it is hard to give an accurate readout of the Pros/Cons. Just guess work. Sources say it will target Portable PC gaming which to date has no handheld specifically designed for that racket.

The X-box found a market among PC gamers who wanted a home system, the XGP may be their answer for handheld gaming. There is a market there, But don't hold your breath.

I heard that xbox (microsoft) wanted to pair up with the gizmondo becasue that little thing is hella more powerfull than any of these -.- but the lame thing is that no1 even tried DEV on it :p

Microsoft Game Studios did license the Gizmondo, then dropped it like a hot rock.
That is why they released *ahem GREAT games like the Conflict series of war games.

Also the Gizmondo really isn't any more powerful than any of these, I mean
it has benefits for 3D but in respect to 2D it isn't top shelf. It has only one cpu
the GP2x has two and the XGP's isn't set in stone yet. As for it compared to
the PSP it is lacking in some areas, where the PSP is more powerful (such as
overall CPU speed). Though it excels in others, memory and GPS. So to say
it is "hella more powerful" might be displaying a bit of ignorance on your part.

MS never licenced anything. They licenced out a couple of games from Microsoft games Studio for portable versions to then but they had no desire to enter the handheld market and no direct connection to the Gizmondo out side of the couple of games Giz paid for the right to make ports of.
