At the risk of getting God Ginrai ranting again, I believe MWeston clarified the issue in the thread "New Blog Entry". It should really end this discussion.

He stated that when looking for nubs with center click options, nobody was able to commit to having acceptable nubs for an August production date. He says there are two options they're mulling over, but they will NOT have center click.

MWeston also stated that there were two companies that thought they could produce the nubs wanted given 5-6 months. But he wasn't sure if that was pure salestalk - and therefore unreliable. Earlier on in this thread, God Ginrai said that a Mark 2 later implementing the click shouldn't be considered because of an unacceptable delay of 6 months to a year. Well, it appears that if center click were insisted on, then everyone would see that delay for the Mark 1's.

I would hope that now everyone could agree that a 6 month delay on release is unacceptable.
I painfully agree.

the question then is what could be the difference between the two new no click nubs, right?
or am i missing something?
That's what I'm wondering. Hopefully one of them has a better throw than 2mm. And hopefully they are better than those damn PSP nubs.

Optimus Prime won't be happy unless it's a 4 mm of throw with a center click and a mini bar...

I just want the thing to be released. You guys got what you wanted - it's 2mm of throw, no center click. And you got your further delay, way to go.

I'm waiting until "approximately August" for the next delay.... Then I'm getting an N810.

Are you kidding Chad? I hope that post was a joke because you're just as extreme as he is. Heck, I backed you up on the no delays thread.

They did NOT get what they wanted - the result was the smallest delay possible. They acknowledged that delaying 6 months was excessive for what they wanted. The only way there would have been NO delay would have been shipping without nubs. A delay was incurred as soon as the original nubs were withdrawn and new proposals had to go out. There was no helping it.

If your post was serious, then I seriously and wholeheartedly recommend getting an N810. If it was a joke, then I'll laugh at myself for getting riled up enough to respond.

He's just saying that development kinks are likely to happen, given the Pandora's history on inconsistent release dates. I, for one, agree with him completely. If there's no release date announced or preorder done by August, it's iControlpad or bust for me! :D

The OS may not be complete until August anyway, so this is unlikely to be the sole cause for a delay. August seems very reasonable for preorders, with shipping in September. If the Pandora is released only a month later than the original (very optomistic) projection, then I'd say it is a great result!
