hello

some of the regular forum readers have learned the very good new release of the very waited pcsxrearmed

(see http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?/topic/57973-pcsx-rearmed/page__st__1050__p__955679&#entry955679 )

it is a good new for all of us, but the problem is that this information is available only for the forumers.

when i checked the http://apps.openpandora.org/ there is no update for this release (and certainly for other one)

so when people will receive their pandora next year, how could they find the last versions of apps?

it is not easy to search all of them in the topics.

i have "discovered" this link http://repo.openpandora.org/ where the release is updated.

but when you click on the emulator tag you have 31 results (vs 59 for the apps store).

think about those who have not their pandora yet and/or have not time to read the forums, it would be more simple to have one location to gather all stuffs rather than having one place with a complete apps but not updated, and one place with less apps but updated.

what do you think? :)

I gather that PNDstore is going to be integrated into the OS as of Hotfix 6 (I *think*), which will most likely help this a great deal. :p

This has been discussed many times before, its almost a matter of community politics.

apps.openpandora.org is the official pandora app store, however this is updated manually by 1 person; the reason this is the case is because developers were having issues uploading their work to the site and thus in the end due to frustration and the app store not getting updated to fix the issues they decided to stop trying.

repo.openpandora.org is the communitys attempt at creating a home for pandora software that is very developer friendly and very end-user friendly, because it is alot easier to use and more advanced in many ways developers tend to use this site over the official one and thus all the latest releases appear here first.

The only reason the official app store has more items is because alot of software was uploaded before the repo existed and the people that created this software are either not around or havent had time to update the PND to be compatible with the offical pandora PXML specifications (which the app store does not care about).

Also another reason it has more items is that alot of software has been uploaded when it wasnt quite ready for public consumption without asking the authors permission so some of the apps are substandard and incomplete, where as devs generally only like to upload their PND's when they feel they are ready.

hope that all makes sense.
