Here is a PND with cdrdao and the ps1rip script from EvilDragon, to rip PSX Games directly on the Pandora (thanks to ekianjo for the tips).

Of course, you'll need to connect a USB CD/DVD Reader/Burner to the Pandora,

I tested 2 Slim DVD Burner, a lenovo (that come with my prof. laptop) and a samsung, and both needed 2 USB connection to work properly. So a Pandora alone cannot Power it. So use an external powered one, or a powered USB HUB for this (or you be lucky and a a Slim that run using only 1 USB Connection).

Good rips...

History log

========

Build 02

----------

  • You can now choose the folder where to put the rip

Build 01

----------

  • Initial release

PS: More script may be added, like rip to mp3 for music, and things like that. If you have some scripts like ps1rip, I can update the PND :)

Can the ripping command be accessed directly from CLI, for ripping whatever one wants?

This is the command I use when I'm on my Linux desktop and so far no issues. I would think a similar command would work if you do implement a command line interface.

cdrdao read-cd --read-subchan rw_raw --read-raw --datafile YOUR_CD_NAME.bin --device /dev/cdrom --driver generic-mmc-raw YOUR_CD_NAME.cue

of course YOUR_CD_NAME can be whatever you feel like.

IIRC, the PSX 2 Pandora script is doing something very similar.

Silent-Hunter may want to do some mp3 ripping or other things...

Is it just me but should the full path go in the cue files like it does.  It would effect trying to move these images around right?  Also, it seems PCSX Re-armed doesn't like some?  I did three with the method shown on pandora Live and in the list it showed 2 bin files and one cue sheet.  the cue one wouldn't run.  Hit Y to show all files and ran bin instead.

I never had issues with cdrdao output files so far. Cues and Bin alike. Cues usually work on PCSXReARMed on my side. Did you try your files on other emulators (like on PC?)

ok here's my cue for moto2 and when I try and use it it tells me unsupported / invalid CD image.  If I use the .bin it works fine.

Thanks for the response!  You are right thats why I didn't push that hard.  However, this was more for and FYI and its my understanding that the cue is needed for some games.  Also, none of the cues worked from cdrdao script for me!

Here's one of the others that didn't have extra tracks.

And here's one that I did on computer that works in pcsx_rearmed (sorry ripped a while ago and don't remember which priogram I used)

Is there an option to change the format of cue file produced?

FYI, I have tried those cdrdao cue file on PC with psx and I get an unhandled exception.  In fact in this emu I have to rename the cue so its not used.  Then I can run the bin without issue.

New build on the repo.

You can now choose the destination folder of rips.

Build 02

----------

  • You can now choose the folder where to put the rip

Dang, this would be seriously cool if it could also rip other CD's!!

Any chance on you building a movie ripper?

I know it might be tough because of the stupid DRM crippling....currently one usually needs two programs on the PC to do this.
