Cave Story is the best homebrew game I have ever played, maybe even the best game I've played all around.

It is a platform-RPG with a unique weapon system, intriguing storyline and around 5-6 hours of solid gameplay. I just finished it today, and I hear there are 4 different endings.

The game was developed by the japanese team 'Pixel Studio'. Which means you'll have to download the translation patch.

PS. The story is very special, and I had part of it ruined for me by someone talking about it on the forum I got the link from. So... Please don't spoil the story for others. No hints or anything please. If you have to talk about it, put a warning in your post.

PPS. The res the game uses is 320x240. If someone could get the source code this would be the ultimate port. :)

I just started. It seems like a special game, although I'm only up to the first village, where the dog things are. Definitely likeable.

nice! Just downloaded and played for a bit. I like the whole concept of 2d platform RPGs. I've just never really liked any that I've played.

This would be amazing on a GP32.

I can't figure out how you open the door to Sky Dragon 00's chamber...

Help?

Did you check all the computers in the Egg Observation Room? If you notice, a certain two of the eggs have an abnormal status.
