Sorry for the obnoxious off-topic question, but madelman, are you still working on phamicon? I was hoping for a new release with sound and command line support one of these days!!

Thanks madelman, I'll try it out later. I was looking forward to FreeDOS more that Win95.

Is there a way to zoom in on the screen, as the hardware scaler seems to suck, and mess the virtual keyboard.

I remember owning this DOS emulator for my Psion Series 5 (EPOC) which ran better than expected on such a dated little machine. (Leisure suit larry worked fine).

Anyway, my point is, I think the GP2X should in theory be able to produce even better results given the specification is much more advanced.

I guess the problem with slow speed lies in the bochs implementation. Can it be trimmed down at all?

PCE also looks like a good PC emulator. It emulates a 8086/8088 PC with a EGA card. Optimized CPU emulation cores exist, including one for ARM. So it *could* be faster than Bochs.

Ok, so after seeing so many people couldn't get it to run I thought about implementing a virtual keyboard in Bochs so, at least, you can try FreeDOS.

I've written a guide on getting FreeDOS to work, it's in my homepage:

Also you can download the new version at:

When I have more time I'll write a guide on installing Win95.

Hope to hear your comments.

once emulated do you think we could play win95 oc games on it? or even use microsoft word?
