That's a radio firmware update. As with most Linux firmwares I would guess that updating it, should it be required, is nothing more than dropping the new file into the firmware directory.
If updating the firmware isn't handled by the kernel module automatically, there's apparently some "sample source code" for downloading firmware to it. It involves an AT command on the tty device, and then doing something on the USB but nothing that I have public access to says exactly what. The necessary code should be in the application notes which EvilDragon, as the purchaser, would be given.
that remembers me,
it would be great to have published
at-command docs for the gemalto baseband.
my huawei usb-baseband-dongle had closed
at-docs and i had to dl some leaked ones
to play nice.
but as the gemalto chips are not consumer
versions, maybe the chance of open
at-docs are higher here.
Yeah, I don't think Gemalto makes them publicly available, but the "gemalto pls8 at command document" is very easy to find if you know exactly what to search for.

because i want "to be on top",
so sing them while they're hot!
naa, the real reason is, i'm using that trusty
pal-crt with console browser
and making longer lines looks ugly here.
if it's annoying to read on an hires-display,
i have no problem with using longer lines again
to be hires-style-compatible, you decide.
...or get a pal-crt and use w3m, and bingo,
looks superneat instantly!

Well hopefully it's that easy! I had a hell of a time, as the baseband wouldn't update unless I was using stock ROM. Although, I suppose on the Pyra I will be using stock ROM so... XD
