Allo everyone!

For the last few weeks, I've been working almost non-stop on a new game. Currently titled 'Ballistic', its a 3D platform/puzzle game for the PC.

Here are a couple of vids of how it looks so far:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1z1bGlh-c4 (30 secs, HQ - Gameplay)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TysBdCgYfaA (8:30, 720p HD - Editor)

It will run and look really nice on higher end systems, or run and remain playable (but not so pretty) on really low end systems (For the technically inclined, my bottom-end target is a GMA950)

Your thoughts and comments? :)

Ooh, looks nice. Have you tried getting it working with a Wii controller for tilt controls?
(Is this likely to be portable to the Pandora?)

I Haven't got a Wii controller so I can't say I've tried.

Also the Graphics Engine it uses isn't cross platform, I'd have to rewrite it from scratch to do a Linux version.

As for the physics - while the Physics engine has a Linux port, there doesn't appear to be source code to recompile it for ARM.

While this is slated for a commercial game though, I would really like to do a Linux/P&|A port of it.

If I can get this out the door, I plan to employ someone(s) experienced with OpenGL ES 2 and ODE to help port it.

There is already Neverball (http://neverball.org/) which could get ported to the Pandora/Wiz.

Neverball doesn't have it's own editor, or a full-on physics engine.

While the editor doesn't have it yet, I can add bodies that can be moved by the ball - and collisions can trigger events (such as causing another object to move or change properties)

The editor is the main thing though, because its so simple to use.

From your description, I'm envisioning the potential for some kind of 3D "The Incredible Machine". Is that pure fantasy, or something you can see your editor pulling off?

Have you tried using Wink by Debugmode for making the video? It's what I usually use as it's very flexible in the editing department.

As for the game, looks impressive. Keep it up!

I also think it should be in the section for whatever system your thinking of releasing it for first, rather than in offtopic. Maybe you'll get more people looking at it that way.

I'm REALLY looking forward to this game. When do you estimate the public beta will be released?
I hope to have public betas out around September. This is slated as a commercial release so there will be a very limited number of free beta slots. Priority for those will be given to members of specialist gaming/device forums (Such as this one) as well as to reviewers.

I may sell beta access for very low price (Around £1.99 GBP) and beta users get a free copy of the final product when its finished (Which will be retailing for around £3.49-£4.99 GBP)

I've fired off a few mails today to Valve software about possibly publishing the result on Steam, call me ambitious though xD

Also, what would be the relevant section for PC games on this forum? I don't see a specific subforum.

I was thinking more along the lines of you porting the game to the Wiz or the Pandora :"] Being able to test and edit levels on the PC and upload them to one of those would be brilliant and make it well worth the price I think.
If it's OpenGL, I shouldn't take too long to port over. Hopefully, but of course only you know the full details.[/quote]It's DirectX based using a closed-source commercial 3D engine (Truevision) which uses a closed-source Physics engine (Newton) and its written in .NET

Pretty much the worst combination, a P&|A port would require a rewrite. If OGRE gets ES 2.0 support then I'd probably be inclined to do it that way (Switching to ODE) and release Linux x86/ARM and MAC ports.
