Release apps+utilities making good eyecatchers in the news

Also it's worth pointing out that many apps won't be too usable "out-of-the-box" if they assume they're displaying on a desktop monitor, since the DPI will be too low, giving very tiny text and icons.

Not to be a permanent solution, but for a fix couldn't there be a general Pandora zoom function that works within all apps on Ubuntu and/or other software? Something like the Opera Mobile zoom function on the HTC Touch Diamond where you use the stylus and draw a circle in a direction to zoom in, the other direction to zoom out.

What about dressing a list of those app (the no gaming ones!) telling what will/might run? Juste like Nonis has been doing here for emulators : viewtopic.php?f=16&t=103

May I start?

  • Will run
    • Firefox
    Will most likely run
    • Open office
    • Abiword
    Will not
    • Flash player (licence)

There is a near-unlimited number of apps out there. It would be ridiculous to try to list them all. Better to just point people to the portability flowchart and let them figure it out for themselves.

And Adobe lifted the licensing requirements for Flash a few months ago. They didn't release the source to their player for us to port, but at least it is now legal for somebody to make their own.
