Another New Gba!

shinneri - I couldn't tell for sure when I had it in my hands... it LOOKED like the screen cover was part of the faceplate. I asked the Nintendo rep who the thing was chained to... (it's so funny.. they get these hot girls and give them four-five GBA Micros or DS's, and have this tether attached from the systems to the outfits the girls are wearing... then they walk around and act as 'mobile kiosks'... just walk up to them and they'll hand you one to play... you can even play multiplayer with the girls as the 'hub'... funny stuff)... anyways not big surprise she had no clue of the screen cover and faceplate were one piece.

Nintendo have always been conscious of this though... before the SP and DS with their 'built in screen protection' (referring to the fact that they fold, of course) every Gameboy before that had a removable screen cover and Nintendo sells these very easy do-it-yourself screen cover replacement kits... so they know that they get scratched up and people get bothered by that and want to fix it... it only makes sense the screen cover on this new non folding GBA would be easily replaceable in that same vein.

the screen of the GBA Micro is as small as if not smaller than the N-gage QD screen... it is very difficult to play on IMO.

I thought the screen was the same size. Is it definitly smaller?

I'm not 100% positive... I mean I didn't have a ruler handy or anything :D :p it SEEMED smaller. It was TOO small that's all I can say.

I don't know, I don't know. I'd worry about the screen getting scratched, but as many of you say, Nintendo has been in this market for years, they know what they're doing and I trust them.

To tell the truth it looks really cool to me, and I want one now I think it would cuddle up well with my other gadgets, and I love the sound of changeable face plates. I think I'm getting a DS, but to tell the truth, playing GBA games with one of the screens turned off doesn't thrill me, I'd much rather have a GBA for GBA games.

I missed out of getting a GBA, so i might just have to get myself a Christmas present when this comes out.

So do we not know if this thing has built-in wireless play yet? I have a feeling that the wireless adapter wouldn't fit on this version of the GBA, and this is being created with the intent of having an extremely portable console.... so built in wireless would be logical and freaking awesome. :D

But wireless play only works with a few games at the momment, mainly Pokémon Red and Green. It's shockingly slow too.

Bloody hell, I thought it was a complete replacement for the cable. So it's just an extra money-maker and the poor people that buy it only get a few games? Ptsch.

I thought that, too.

If it only works on a couple games, what good is it?

I Agree with that, I thought at first it just acted like a cable, which I didn't see why it wouldn't.
But it isn't that good though as a profit maker seen as it comes free with most of the games it works with...

I recall the makers of the Afterburner trying to make a wireless link that works for all games a while back.. not sure how far they got though....
