I would like to see an android ROM that can be run from SDcard as an alternate boot.
This was in the news a lot the past 24 hrs; https://liliputing.com/2017/04/anbox-lets-run-android-apps-natively-ubuntu-gnulinux-distros.html
Seems we will have something that works as people keep wanting this kind of solution.
Exactly what I want. But hopefully it'll live longer than the other Android on Linux projekts.
Shashlik seems dead.
Cool. It might already work on arm devices too:
Does Anbox need a specific Android image for every device?
No. Anbox does not need a specific Android image for every device as it's is especially build in a device independent way. Anbox will ship with a single Android image per architecture (amd64, armhf, arm64) and no device specifc modifications are required.
Is someone up to trying it on Pandora ?
That would be ace, having that working on my Pandora!
This looks like an awesome thing.
I attempted to try it on the devboard, it looks like it will require https://snapcraft.io/ for installation, there is a package for stretch, but not jessie, building it from source brought me into a rabbit hole of dealing with golang... so, I think I'll need to try out the Stretch image soon then.
Shashlik did not choose the right technicals solutions. Anbox on the other hands
I'd love to see someone who's working on the Pyra OS weigh in on this. Will it possibly work?
Separate names with a comma.
