Amiga Emu

i've videos of pandora running fullspeed amiga emulation (68020, AGA, ks 3.1, 2mb chip, 2mb fast)

hopefully i'll upload them somewhere soon..

puae = e-uae 0.8.28 + winuae 1.5.3

Nice :)

I hope it's running full speed with a good level of accuracy (Battle Squadron seems to require full core accuracy on E-UAE for instance) and with sound.

As for now, I can confirm that we have an AGA Amiga emulation with outstanding compatibility. Thanks to Gnostic. Videos are coming soon. ;)
My heart just stopped.

Awesome!

Is that running with sound being emulated as well?

I never would of thought AGA support would be included so early on.

More videos when you have some time please GnoSTiC.

Hey, nice! I'll have to grab that particular code base. Looks like someone else has already done some of the work I'm intending to do. :) I'd be interested in seeing what the 'benchmarks' say, as far as CPU speed.

(grabs P-UAE source code)

Great work GnoStiC, now i can prepare my Amiga OS 3.5 on Harddisk image format to work on Pandora like on my Amiga 1230 ;)

That is absolutely fantastic news - taking e-uae and adding the bits from WinUAE 1.5.3 is an astonishing feat! WELL DONE!

Is there any way of rolling this work into e-uae itself?

I've built this for my Beagle Board. No perceivable speed difference, but the enhancements are useful in other ways. Is this an upclocked Pandora that you're running on, Gnostic?

Unfortunately, there are bugs. :(

For instance, running Prince of Persia causes it to segfault, whereas the WIP2 release of E-UAE doesn't.

  • yes, it's a MK2 board (but no, i don't have a Pandora (devkit))
  • it wasn't overclocked
  • sound is emulated but output was disabled (alsa/oss)
  • the shown puae and it's source is not public yet, i'm still working on it

That's great news, thanks GnoStiC. It's really impressive that a lot of this kind of work is being put together before the units are out. Really looking forward it.

Completely curious: Were any hardfile operations/support ported from WinUae? I seem to recall Winuae being rather ahead in it's hardfile/harddrive mapping support, but I could be wrong...

Are you sure that was an AGA demo!?, I've seen hundreds of A500 demos better than that! Show something that makes me believe its running AGA software!
Yeah, I've mistaken some A500 demos for AGA in the past! If he says it's AGA, I believe it, though!
