Well, it ignores the limit (kind of) but you'll never see the entire name on the GP32 (except in Frodo, which somehow reads them) - just, say, if your file was called "Ultimate Stunts 1997.bin" it'd be displayed as "Ultima~1.bin" - or ~2 if there was another file that shared the first 6 letters. Same as if you type dir in Dos 7 or earlier...
