I've decided to continue the overclocking experiment (from last year) after discovering some GP32's can reach 200mhz - I will attempt to fry one at this speed by leaving it on all day.

Time to see how far a GP can be pushed :) If all goes OK it might be possible to offer 200mhz GP32's or upgrades beyond 166mhz at least.

Yeah great!, Keep us updated on the progress, Like you did lasts year, That was tense. :p

Btw Craig, What machine are you testing, BLU, FLU or Non-FLU.

Trooper

I'll pay for postage of the broken GP32 if you fry it to my house. I wouldn't mind the spare components ;)

whoa, 200mhz... thats crazy man... but wouldnt batteries last like 30mins or less at that speed? =\ what we need is some 4000mAh rechargables or something!! :D I wonder if those even exist? the highest I've seen are 2300's...

I'm still waiting for osnes9x with the asm core dammit, i go on holiday on monday and I SOOOO want it for my 8hr flight :(

I overclocked my flu to 200mhz and it froze and I left it like that for a while. Has that damaged my gp32?
Almost deffinately. It will most likely explode at some point over the next few days.

Edit:(Joke, if it works still then it's fine. Just don't leave it on if it crashes like that again.)

Hy,

updated my cpuclock tester to support >200Mhz...

So some of you lucky nerds could try it :)

I'll give it a shot... though I have no intention of ever playing at that kind of speed... I'd just like to know what the highest is my already stupidly nice one can be pushed...

Isn't the memory limiting the GP32 from going any faster than 166 any how?

do you people read ANYTHING? it has been determine by somone that it ISN'T the quality of the memory in the gp32!

in fact.. after a quick looksy at the gp32's cpu data sheet, this cpu should only be able to (safely) go up to 150mhz...

so 200 is a bit crazy...
