Most memory cards come in powers of two, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and so on. SanDisk has broke the mold – and the record – with a new 200GB microSD card. It’s a follow-up to the to the first ever 128GB but offers 56% more storage.
Special Sauce

I wonder if other companies are still going to release a 256GB microSDXC card?

Of course not. Why spend money on a 256GB card when you can charge the exact same amount for a 200190GB card?

Hm, SanDisk told, that more memory is not possible in the given space... At least not with the same building process...

However is it fascinating, that this micro SD card has ~ as much space as my SSD. o_O If we would build a micro sd cluster... ^^

Edit: I know this would not work for different reasons. Please don't tell me.

This is obviously aimed at mobiles and tablets.  If you need 200 Gb on a mobile or tablet perhaps you should be re-evaluating how you deal with data.

Go ahead and buy 200 gb cards then, it's not like I care. When they release a 2 TB one you should grab that as well.

I make do with 8 and have zero problems and I am a very data heavy user.

Some games are 5GB.
I thought they were just frustration machines myself. bad controls, bad plot, bad games and with a bonus of taking up more than half of my phones space :p

I have a 16GB card and I am constantly juggeling with files - now what ? Something interesting to add to the topic ? I guess not.

If you need a 200 Gb card you really should be re evaluating your data usage.

But a class 10 32 gb card it should only knock you back 20 bucks.  Hell go for the 64 Gb for 30-40 bucks.

If you actually need to purchase a 200 Gb card for your mobile phone you have problems.

I need the 200GB of space for games and porn (when I go camping and there's no internet connection).

P.S. There are many android games that are AAA and are big in GB size.

The point is, everyone (and especially here, where most people are already seasoned electronic device users) has different needs and developed certain usage habits. Mine is that I am a "heavy" communter and need a lot of space for movies, audio books and games so even a suggested 64GB card would only postpone the problem that at one point I have to decide what to delete and what to keep. Even a 200GB card wouldn't be enough but just expand that timespan as the problem is, that due to having to use the public transportation system a lot, I have less time to sit down and replace the media with what I want to watch/play/listen to next. One of my collegues on the other hand does not have this problem at all (and does not even need an additional storage device beside the internal memory)as he has a dataplan that allows him to use media streaming services to cater his needs for entertainment on the go.

Long story short: no one has any "problems" just because he does not apply to your rules/ideas on how people have to use their devices.
