    Recommend Me An O/s

If you are looking for a user friendly Linux without the overheads of GNOME/KDE, then it might also be worth giving Xubuntu a look, which uses XFce as it's window manager. Runs at a decent speed on a machine I have of that spec. Bear in mind that with most Linux variants that you get from...

    Gp2x Shirts

It would depend on the content of the shirt, of course, but I wouldn't haven't a problem with wearing one.

    Gp2x Value Pack: Included Games

Mebbe it's not the playable demo, but the running demo that is on the default GP2X when you get it?

    Gp2x Crap Games Competition

    Surely that's an advantage ;)

    Cubase

I know that the Jokosher project have plans for a couple of sub-projects involving portable devices that might be applicable. One is for 'Jokosher-mini', which is basically a cutdown recorder. The other is 'Jokosher-remote', which is a remote control for a central computer that is running...

    Very Disapointing Linux Support

Works fine on my Ubuntu box too. (Don't forget to select the USB connection from the setting menu) It just appears on the desktop as per normal. I don't have the CD, so I can't comment on that. Check out the unofficial user guide (which I believe is better) which is linked from the frontpage...

    Gp2x Review On Cdrinfo.com

From what I've heard, Sony are doing there best to lock down the PSP with each new firmware upgrade, thus actively working against the homebrew scene, whereas GPH quite obviously encourage it.

    Merry Christmas

Heh - if this was another time in another forum, I'd comment on that ;) Merry Christmas to you all.

    Supertux V1.4 Released

Running on original firmware on a practically vanilla mk2 gp2x - I think it's firmware 2.0.0 - running on a 28" widescreen TV. I've been running games from DrMDx and they all run fine.

Okay Tech Heads, How Do I...

Hmmmm - well - the search tool will give you a full list, but I don't think it will be printable unless you screenshot it, which would seem a little bit excessive. This might prove useful, though, although it doesn't step down into sub directories as far as I can see - this is a little...

Cheapest Way To Get Dpad On Gp2x?

This guy sells both a simple EXT-to-USB host cable, and one with a seperate power supply. Although, personally, I think the BOB looks great, and I think I'll probably get one of the commercial ones when they come out.

    Supertux V1.4 Released

Has anyone been playing SuperTux on a TV - on my TV I seem to get the screen doubled, but I've not seen anyone else mention this problem?

    Gp2x, Questions Before Purchase!

Contrary to what Orkie said, I believe that the guy on the 2nd link I posted is selling USB Host Cables that run off the EXT port, without need of a Breakout Board, but you will need one or the other I believe.

    Gp2x, Questions Before Purchase!

I think it depends very much on the adaptor; USB wifi sticks are notorious under Linux to start with, let alone on the GP2X. Try one of the ones listed here: http://www.gp32x.de/board/lofiversion/index.php/t14329.html See also this guy: http://www.artaylor.co.uk/~richard/gp2x/ Although...

    Gp2x, Questions Before Purchase!

No - AVIs should play fine See http://linux.oneandoneis2.org/GP2X/rip.htm for some details - mencoder will do it, or transcode - dvd::rip provides a nice front end. There are probably other ways - I'm still learning on this one myself I believe so, yes. I have seen reports of both some USB...

    Gp2x Killed My Card!?

You could try a zerofill - easiest to do this from knoppix: dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdX (where X is the appropriate letter for where the drive is) Be very careful that you chose the correct disk, as this will overwrite the disk completely.

    Usb No Scandisk

I'm guessing maybe not. starman - because of the multipurpose nature of the USB port on the GP2X, you'll need to tell it that you want to do data transfer. Go to the Settings menus, and then to the USB option. Pick which drive you want to use (probably the SD Card, but you can use the NAND...

What Are You Playing Right Now?

Well - I've only just got my GP2X (well - it's borrowed, not even mine :( ) and I don't have an SD Card yet (2GB on order from Amazon), so I'm currently playing SuperTux.....
