This makes the PSP much much much more prettier in my eyes!! But I would be really worried about sony upgraded to like firmware 4.0 and having commercial games require 4.0 and the version changer be obsolulete and then being screwed indefinitly... or something like that... :)
I loved playing with a joystick on C64. But the points of contact are much easier\bigger to hit then a miniturized joystick (gp2x) DPAD gives you the precision when small.
I only really see this getting fixed with a DPAD..
I guess another alternative is using an analog stick. It would be just like the DPAD but some sort of controller that just deciphers the degrees and triggers the correct wire that is wired to a direction..
like degrees -25 through 25 = up...
Just read the whole thread.. phew...
If they have created and released any updates to firmware or kernal and they say they have to wait for source code for those updates to be uploaded also, why not distribute the binaries WITH the source code? Noone has suggested that to them :)
I don't...
Good thinking though! Keep the ideas flowing!
I would totally need the cornor though, any type of shooting game will use cornors. Atari joystick would respond to a UP\RIGHT cornor combo, DPAD needs to do the same.
Even if the DPAD piece is raised slightly above the rest of the console, but looks good, I'm totally for that.
The chip though is hard to put in. You could probobly get a smaller chip if you go a tiny bit more expensive... But even then, you'll have to get inventive of where to put it. You...
I'll pay 50$ (dollars) to the first person to do a real DPAD. It must look good. And I want a proof of concept design drawing first.
And be fair! If you use something like the logic Radek has designed, split the moola with him :)
I'm American and while I pronounce it wrong, I do spell it correct. Weird! :)
OH wait.. No I dont.. or do i? MYSTERY!!!
How about a nice Glass stick :D:D:D With a red LED (not the letter L! hehe) inside to shine out mmmmm
Correct! But what you should do is make connections to all 8 connectors. The X\Y are mapped directly but if a X and Y are hit together, they should short out the straight connections and use the diagonal connection.
I got all the MST3k Episodes from DAP :) Even a few from years ago before they turned into buyable products and dropped from DAP :D:D
But hte DVD collections are VERY nice quality I buy those when they come out..
