Video Formats Revisited... There's An Issue

It is true, also, that the ffmpeg project as it exists for x86 has many codecs with x86 assembly routines in them as well. I wouldn't be too concerned about that, though, as there have been ARM versions of this ported for Windows Mobile and many other ARM platforms existing for a long time...

N64 Emulator In The Work For Pandora

Ah yes you're right. anti-aliasing is for edges right? Yes it is the extremely blurred textures I'm talking about. I'd rather see pixels than obviously blurred images :) My opinion is- and this is from my remembering of the time period and the state of hardware 3-d graphics acceleration at...

N64 Emulator In The Work For Pandora

Yah to be honest, I thought the same thing initially when I saw how much excitement people were having about this N64 EMU possibility. Really, the N64 and original Playstation had similar generation of game technology- just that on the N64 everything was anti-aliased to all hell, which didn't...

    Official Status Update Incl. Table

Yah, and at least it's probably 1/2 months to 1 month till we actually see real pictures and videos of the production units. That will at least be reassuring to everyone.

    Maemo 5 On Pandora

    - That was really informative actually. One of those slides states "100% OSS is not the goal here. 80/20 is blah blah" . So maybe that 20 is like the GPS map software and things like this? Perhaps the OS itself is completely open...

    Maemo 5 On Pandora

Yes but notice that those repos are labeled Tools and SDK. That suggests to me that these are for building applications for Maemo not Maemo itself. Someone inform me otherwise?

    Maemo 5 On Pandora

Hi guys, I was just wondering the same thing coincidentally- well because I was watching youtube vids of the N900. But I'm not so sure it will be able to work on the Pandora, is it even open source? I know it is linux based and runs tons of open source based stuff- and I know there is a...

    Pandora Case Badges

I don't really get why you'd want those on your device. When I buy a computer and it has stickers on it, the first thing I do is remove them. It would be like walking around with a Coke T-Shirt on if you ask me. I guess it's a matter of taste though.

    Update Openpandora.ca?

I think it's highly probable that most people will get them in October- if the first 100 ship some time mid-September (optimistic), those people will likely receive them late September or so. So the rest would go out after that some time.

    Will The Pandora Ever Arrive?

I think it's more likely that the first 100 will ship in a month from now- not arriving for a little after that.

    Will The Pandora Ever Arrive?

I'd prefer the addresses so I can intercept one. I promise I will deliver my order to the person to replace it ;)

    N900 Nokia

Yah, I considered whether this might be appealing to me in the way the Pandora is- and well, maybe it would be a little easier to play games than on the iphone since it has physical keys to be used, but still- The Pandora will really be that needed convergence device, small PDA like, but highly...

    Pandora's Movie/mp3 Player - Firmware

Yah, I was smirking a bit when I read that ;) There's not a single piece of software in the world that has no bugs. I mean, there's stable software and there's not so stable software... but even the most stable software still has bugs if you're creative enough to find them. I highly doubt...

    Unknown Lights

I always knew Richard Stallman was "Holier than thou", but I didn't realize his DNA actually glows because of it. Interesting. Isn't it sad how we're all left to analyze details of prototypes in brief videos and obsess about them? Well, at least I am and the starter of this thread is- I had...
