A Preview Of Rdesktop On An N800

I like now nicely Windows 7 takes too the 800x480 display. I can see myself using this a lot! Shame that the guys developing VNC are too hung-up on using it *only* for server administration, that they won't use MPEG compression for high-speed video. Ah well. I yearn for a solution to stream my...

Pandora Pandora As A Usb Controller For Pcs?

The proper way to do such a thing would be to write a virtual HID driver for the target machine. For Linux targets this is fairly trivial, for Windows targets this is a bit more tricky - especially on 64-bit versions which insist on signed drivers. If you used something like VNC/Synergy, you...

    Opensolaris Arm Port.

http://opensolaris.org/os/project/osarm/ So what do people think the odds are of seeing Solaris for the Panda? I'm not sure how useful it would be - but cool nethertheless!

How about the Blackdown JRE? Has anyone tried compiling that for ARM?

Release Why quake 3? and touchscreen suggestion

Re: Found a compromise XReal is already been looked at, and has been repeatedly. Problem is it requires more memory for static variables than the Pandora actually has, so it would take a fair amount of work to get it to go. Quake 3 is the main focus because it is the best looking game that is...

    Xmms Rather Than Audacious?

I agree with the general sentiment here. I much prefer the GTK2 based Audacious, XMMS using GTK1 feels a bit luggish and unwieldy these days. It also doesn't integrate properly into the desktop. I can't see why Audacious would require any more than a recompile for ARM though... I'm sure...

Original 3d Games For The Pandora?

I'd like to port Ballistic to the Pandora when I eventually get my hands on one (And I finish the game) but it's dependant on there being suitable 3D and physics engines. The existing OGRE implementation is only GLES 1.x, And I'd need a GLES 2.x implementation for performance and shader...

    Ballistic Beta Videos!

If it's OpenGL, I shouldn't take too long to port over. Hopefully, but of course only you know the full details. It's DirectX based using a closed-source commercial 3D engine (Truevision) which uses a closed-source Physics engine (Newton) and its written in .NET Pretty much the worst...

    Ballistic Beta Videos!

I hope to have public betas out around September. This is slated as a commercial release so there will be a very limited number of free beta slots. Priority for those will be given to members of specialist gaming/device forums (Such as this one) as well as to reviewers. I may sell beta access...

    Ballistic Beta Videos!

If I can sort out the binding of joints/axis inside the editor, then it should be well within what it can pull off.

    Ballistic Beta Videos!

Neverball doesn't have it's own editor, or a full-on physics engine. While the editor doesn't have it yet, I can add bodies that can be moved by the ball - and collisions can trigger events (such as causing another object to move or change properties) The editor is the main thing though...

    Ballistic Beta Videos!

(Is this likely to be portable to the Pandora?) I Haven't got a Wii controller so I can't say I've tried. Also the Graphics Engine it uses isn't cross platform, I'd have to rewrite it from scratch to do a Linux version. As for the physics - while the Physics engine has a Linux port, there...

    Ballistic Beta Videos!

Allo everyone! For the last few weeks, I've been working almost non-stop on a new game. Currently titled 'Ballistic', its a 3D platform/puzzle game for the PC. Here are a couple of vids of how it looks so far: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1z1bGlh-c4 (30 secs, HQ - Gameplay)...

At Least I'm Not Dead. (official Blog Update)

I had a chat with my father about the Blog post, he's come across this situation a time or two before and had the following suggestion. To set up a registered branch of the OpenPandora organization inside the US, specifically in the state of Delaware - which allegedly has the easiest rules for...
