    Pandora2: Internal trackpad?

You could probably get one of these: http://www.ebay.com/...e-/160595933526 Not sure if that will work with USB 1.1, but I'm sure if it doesn't there are other options out there. There were a couple others I saw as well. Something long might block the triggers though. If a 2nd headphone jack...

    Pandora2: Internal trackpad?

I wouldn't want a 2nd touchscreen on the unit, either. The added expense just isn't worth it, and at best it would be a gimmick. The thickness of overlay nubs probably could be made very thin, depending on the engineering. This one's quite thick, but I imagine you could make this a lot thinner...

    Release Hurrican sourcecode released!

Yes, please! Do you really even have to ask?

    Pandora2: Internal trackpad?

Yes, I did read that, but what I'm saying is if you want the trackpad to be accessible to your thumbs and used like a laptop trackpad, which is what I gathered your goal was with this thread, your thumbs would still have to be able to get to it ergonomically. Perhaps I understood wrong and you...

Thanks for the update, guys. Hang in there, keep up the great work, and thanks for helping out over there. :)

    Pandora2: Internal trackpad?

That's how the Razer Switchblade is, essentially. There's a touchscreen under the keyboard that can change depending on the situation and/or game. It looks really clunky to me, though, and there are no dedicated game buttons like a d-pad or analog nubs/sticks.

    Pandora2: Internal trackpad?

The thinness of the trackpad brings me back to what I said earlier, about it being too thin to be in an ergonomic position. It'd be recessed into the case, against the board, and your thumbs would have to reach over the case to get to it. My concern there is the edge of the case could possibly...

    Pandora2: Internal trackpad?

Why not just replace the entire bottom with a touchpad and have all the buttons built in such a manner?

    Pandora2: Internal trackpad?

With one capable of multitouch would probably work, though it would really depend on how well the feel of the buttons can be engineered and whether or not that kind of tech is already patented (the button overlays, which it might since there's already such a thing for capacitive screen devices)...

    Pandora2: Internal trackpad?

Interesting idea. Perhaps if the modular nubs (not sure if that's how they were referred to) are used you could just swap out a nub with a small trackpad instead, like one of those thumb-sized small ones. You thinking something like the trackpad on the Xperia Play?

    Pandora outdated?

I only last year picked up a PS3, a slim model, and it was in exchange for a Blu-Ray player I received for Christmas in '10 (yup, late to the party). The only thing I've done with it so far is play movies on it and Monster Hunter thru Ad-Hoc party. :P The "by comparison" was in reference to...

    Pandora outdated?

Just playing devil's advocate here, wouldn't a more recent CPU be more power efficient? I can kind of see why a lot of people regard the Pandora as "outdated", but imo hardware is nothing without software anyway. My 3DS sits next to me barely used, despite it being quite new hardware. My PS3...

A daily report from the Rebirth

Lol, sorry I couldn't have shared this sooner..! I've been pretty busy with some freelance deadlines so I wasn't around as much. I didn't know if someone had already thought of it, either. It's pretty much just a tiny homemade scribe. Not sure they make them this small, but paperclips are...

A daily report from the Rebirth

Ouch... Well, not sure if this will help you any, but here's a tool I made from a paperclip that I've been using to take the lid apart. It's just a common large paperclip with a hook on one end (the units on the mat are in inches), with the hook tip shaped a bit and filed to remove burrs. I...

Nice pics! Thanks for helping out, guys, and thanks for the updates. Question: the blisters, are they from pulling apart the lid assembly? If so I'm curious as to the method you folks are using to take it apart.

2 Months..... umm, weeks to go (2012-02-06)

Fast post is fast... faster than I. :P @PaulForey There's actually been a number of changes to her design that I haven't shown since I posted that version. Getting a bit off-topic tho. Edit: I lol'd at the idea she's late for something.

Can we have an ask ED Questions section?

The guy's already super busy as it is, do we really want to trouble him with another area of the forum he's got to religiously check and respond to?

2 Months..... umm, weeks to go (2012-02-06)

I've been wondering about this myself. I've got a couple friends who've ordered after I talked them into getting one, and both of them have little to no idea what's going on because they don't visit the forums. Currently the status page says 1300 are left to be produced (approx), and since...
