A Script To Shutdown After Charging

Looking over the article, it messes with runscripts.. this can be potentially dangerous ( not to mention it's poking the charge chip directly! ) so I think the lack of PND is more a deterrent from people not quite sure what's going on from blindly running it, and then getting into trouble. As...

    Debian On An Sd Card

It looks more like me botching up the RC scripts.. but I'll have a look :) I'm doing a third pass now.. as I caught a lot of missing stuff last time, hopefully I'll catch some more this time!

    Debian On An Sd Card

Ahh... I might have an idea with what I've buggered up! I noticed this last night when I tested bluetooth that it kept the MAC for the bluetooth. Obviously that's device dependent, so I'm wondering if it's done the same with the wifi.. Think I'll have another day's poking at it.. as for not...

    Debian On An Sd Card

I honestly have no idea what's going on here... the modules match the kernel and seem to work on other Pandoras, so how yours is different baffles me. I assume dmesg doesn't have anything useful either? I also find it strange that you have to manually start up network manager... something's...

    Fabled Lands

I've got the originals of books 1 and 3 ;) They really were quite amazing solo adventures... and as I had book 3, I got to sail the seas and pirate things, was great! Think I had a few houses as well to store things... I'll be grabbing the new ones when I get some money, as they look a...

Opinions from the developers point of view?

Let's see... 1. I bounce about devices a lot.. I have done some stuff for most things though, some even got released and can still be found :D I do wish I did more on the GP32 and got something finished enough to release though.. I liked the GP32.. 2. As the Pandora is essentially a...

    Debian On An Sd Card

Yea that works.. just wanting to see how much interest there is as I've just been hacking Debian onto the Pandora in a rather vicious way ( as the Wiki page shows! ) whereas doing it properly requires that highly prized and valued commodity - time. And by properly I mean a set of .debs...

    Debian On An Sd Card

All releases will now be on here: http://pandorawiki.org/Debian_On_SD I've just released 1.0.1 ... this is exactly what the guide on the Wiki shows how to do, and the files can be grabbed from there. I'll only put new releases on the wiki page now, so I can keep tabs on where all the links are...

    Debian On An Sd Card

I only use an SD with one ext2 partition.. haven't bothered with swap as I want to see how much we can get away with on stock hardware without any extra fiddling.

    Debian On An Sd Card

I have no idea how it's possible to have different results with the same tarball, on the same hardware, that works for others.. it makes no sense! :S You would get different results from going through the Wiki guide, but only because I've caught a few more things that I missed out last time...

    Debian on SD

Good stuff :) I've been retracing my steps again and documenting it on the Wiki as well at the moment ( http://pandorawiki.org/Debian_On_SD ) .. hopefully get a slightly cleaner build, for instance. The thread on the other board has had some activity with people getting it working too -...

    Gles Driver Bug

Interestingly, I've seen that also happen on Android when doing exactly the same kind of thing - the textures start to become utterly warped and pixelated. I had thought it was just another GLES quirk, but if you're saying it works fine on the Wiz, then perhaps not. Not the answer you were...

    Debian On An Sd Card

The wifi drivers are definitely loaded then... not sure why NetworkManager isn't working for you then.. is it's list empty when you click on it? Does it even know there's something there? ( it will specifically come up with "no devices" )

    Debian On An Sd Card

Yea that doesn't sound right.. you should see wlan0 if the wifi has activated. Try extracting onto the card again, something doesn't seem right :(

    Debian On An Sd Card

You should do.. do you see a Toggle_Wifi icon on the top left of the desktop? ( in trevormarco's 2nd and 3rd picture. ) Starting that up should trigger the Wifi ( the led will come on, and you'll get a notification on the top right that Wifi is being enabled. ) You'll be asked for your password...

    Usb Keyboard Layout

Ahh.. got a bit closer to it I see :) So most of my "help" was a tad useless :D but seems you figured it out a bit better anyway, just have the udev stuff to deal with. I don't see anything directly wrong with that.. you could try putting in the full path to xmodmap ( which should be...

    Debian On An Sd Card

Yea, parts of it work.. parts of it don't.. I possibly missed something out, but I'm going through the process again bit-by-bit and documenting it on the Wiki. Hopefully once it's done someone can point out anything I did wrong and we can get libpnd sorted properly :) I know bits of it work...

    Debian On An Sd Card

Yep, I caught that for when I released it.. that comment was from while I was still battering things into shape a bit. Though I actually didn't realise I did it and was a bit shocked when I nudged the nub and the mouse moved! hehe Going through the process again and documenting it for the...

    Debian on SD

That sounds like a flakey uboot as I had that issue till I reflashed. So, you have two choices: Update/Reflash uboot to a non-flakey version. Repartition your card into a small ( ~50mb ) fat32 partition at the front, and the ext2/3 partition covering the rest of it. Stick uImage in the...

    Debian On An Sd Card

NetworkManager is there.. check the system tray in the bottom right of the screen.. I've connected to my WPA configured WiFi with it. X pushing the CPU to 100% is a known bug ( see my oddities list ) - it seems to be tslib misbehaving if you use the touchscreen... strangely, it doesn't seem to...
