    Debian On An Sd Card

I've been taking a break and doing some engine work for a bit ( in what little free time I get! ) however, it's approaching a really nice usable state, so I shall be back to breaking Debian soon ;) I do have bits of the GUI installer working as well, and a good first milestone will be to get it...

Well, getting stuff done for the end of last month didn't happen, did it? ;) Either way, I've documented the fixed function transform matrix stuff now, and it's up on the wiki, with new code in the repository for playing with. One word of warning, my Right vector is different to what OpenGL...

    Beta Bennu Runtime

Ah.. I wasn't actually ready to upload it to any file archive, as there were some things you highlighted that I should do for the next version which I was going to do and upload that properly. However, if it works, fair enough.. I haven't heard one way or another that it doesn't work ( or does...

    Debian On An Sd Card

Then run the command where you have the tarball downloaded to, and with the tarball's name. If you're having trouble with this, I advise you to pick up a book or something on Linux and use a VM to mess about with, rather than using Debian on your Pandora. You'll just get frustrated with it...

    Debian On An Sd Card

The same thing, assuming you're wanting to use the card in the first slot... the -C argument just directs where to untar. If you have the tar file on the same card as you want to use, just drop off the "-C /media/whatever" part.

    Debian On An Sd Card

Assuming your SD card has mounted to /media/mmc0blk1 then the extract command would be: sudo tar -xvjpf pandora-squeeze-1.0.tar.bz2 -C /media/mmc0blk1 -edit- me getting the example right would be useful.. stops confusing people more! *cough* hehe -edit- However, if you don't have that much...

    Debian On An Sd Card

U-Boot is the bootloader.. effectively running an upgrade PND ( for say, Hotfix5 ) will usually check to see if it's upto date and flash it if not, if I remember correctly. Or you can stick the latest u-boot files and flash kit on a card from the openpandora firmware section and flash that...

    Debian On An Sd Card

You've tried to fsck the mount point rather than the raw partition, which'll be /dev/mmcblk0p1 for example ( for first partition, left slot ) .. not sure you can fsck mount points, as I've never really done it.. Also, make sure it's unmounted before attempting that... fscking a mounted...

    Debian On An Sd Card

Unless I can get it doing it myself, I don't know what it is to attempt to try and fix it, I'm afraid. Only thing I can think of is ensure your U-Boot is up to date, as I know that can cause interesting issues.. I had to have a Fat32 partition with the kernel in it to boot from, before I...

    Debian On An Sd Card

Yep, I'll try remember to add that in. I'll be going back to stock Debian anyway, which tends to pull in a lot more bits and pieces than Emdebian Grip did.. so it'll possibly be a part of that. I'll ensure it's explicitly there anyway.

    Debian On An Sd Card

I had a weekend off, and work's been a bit mad to do anything, sadly... though I have made a start on 1.1's installer interface now. I'll be using FLTK as it's really tiny, and does pretty much everything I'll need from it. I'm going to have the installer able to download prebuilt images...

    Debian On An Sd Card

Ah, suppose the "I/O error" gives it away a bit! You could try running fsck on the card and see if it finds anything... but I've never seen that :\ I don't have my Pandora with me just now to pull down ssh and see what it's upto, but I doubt it's a repository error.

    Debian On An Sd Card

I've never had a problem with my Sandisk 2giggers or Transcend 8giggers before.. and I effectively boot off SD for the most part. Also, what is the error? Grip has some funny package bugger-ups just now, it could be that... this is why I'll be retargeting stock Debian for 1.1

Android, Chrome OS & Ubuntu for Beagleboard - Current Bounty $425

Guess it's time to build a Frankenstein kernel ;) I need to build one for my next Debian release anyway..

Android, Chrome OS & Ubuntu for Beagleboard - Current Bounty $425

If that's the rowboat project, I've got a partial build of that from a while ago.. I have a feeling that it's not too fond of my 64bit machine as the build process died by the linker getting confused and trying to pull in host libraries. I probably need to do the good 'ol 32bit chroot...

Do you want to know the good news, or the bad news? ;) Good News Bad News So.. I tried another method... Good News Bad News This was, however, a quick fiddle within a spare couple of hours. Additionally, the prebuilt OMAP3x 2.3 Android kit from TI does roughly the same...

I forgot to mention that the code repository does have lots of little todos scattered around the place. These are intentional, for the most part! Think of them as little exercises to do on your own :) none of them are really all that hard - mostly catching errors and acting on them, for...

    Debian on SD

Thought I had fixed that post 1.0.5 ... oh well, if you just do the loadkeys manually from the console, it'll work happily.. though I'm damn sure I had added it to the GDM init script to load both X side and console side. I remember trying to fiddle around with adding it to the correct rc, but...

    Thinking about Debian

You can fit it on the NAND, but you're best going through the multistrap process with Emdebian and building your own rootfs rather than taking one of mine ( for instance. ) It also seems a tad flaky on the NAND, but that's probably more something I buggered up than anything else. Emdebian...
