    Apt Repositories For Pandora

/All/ Of these issues can be solved with an SD card union mounted on top of the root filesystem. Take the SD card, it takes EVERYTHING with it, including the copy of the db. One card can be used for applications and libraries, the other, for data. I don't know about you, but the last time I...

    Apt Repositories For Pandora

Squidge, It isn't really a problem with storage, it is a matter of good practices. That kind of irresponsible practice bloats software and makes everything difficult to upgrade or patch. You start needlessly seeing (to quote another poster) a 200kb application take up 15MB because you seemingly...

    Apt Repositories For Pandora

58%? are you counting the votes for "I dont care as long as it has a GUI" against package management? There should be "supported" mechanisms in place for both, at least, considering the clearly visible amount of demand for it.

Of course, as that is a basic feature of Linux.

    Announcement: Pond

Going to add that functionality for bluetooth, and WiFi if the chip supports ad-hoc (I doubt it will not). I will not actually code anything to manage the hardware beyond perhaps a simplistic script, but once there is an open path for connections, I'll try to make it as easy and...

    Announcement: Pond

I'll consider allowing PONClient connect to other communication protocols- since I'm planniing on using libpurple, anything supported in pidgin (AIM, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, etc) will fairly easily work. Do NOT ask for skype, though. Some features will only be available on POND Jabber servers, like...

    Announcement: Pond

For voice, I was just planning on using speex, then sending that over the pipe. I'll look into libjingle. As for UDP hole punching, that looks very promising. And don't worry, if you want to compile your application for the Pandora, PC (Win, Lin or Mac), it will work, and all versions will be...

    Announcement: Pond

*Logo Designed by greendots* Well, I've spoken alot about how important online is for the Pandora, and now I'm going to put my money where my mouth is. I'm announcing my plans to write a network library to take the complexity out of integrating online functionality into homebrew games...

    Dual Screens With Pandora?

Bus limitations make it unlikely, but still, promising. Just don't expect to get any reasonably high resolution at a usable refresh rate.

    Pandora Pandora Gui Application

How customizable is this? Can you script locations of icons, what icons appear, and other things? I'm currently looking at a few GUI frontends to customize for a project of mine.

Development Poll About My New Crosslibrary Sdk (formerly Known As Hpl)

I have to agree with language bindings. There are many promising things coming out of the Python and Ruby communities nowadays, despite not being very efficient use of resources. Network libraries can be written by anyone, hell, I'm writing one myself right now :)

    Installer, Package/data Management, Etc?

We've had this discussion before. Most likely, we'll be using APT as our package manager. Edit: If the SD cards are mounted as a Union, it will be plenty sufficient, as all libs will just go on the SD card with the apps that require them.
