Watching Moves Via Tv Out :d

Everyone here seems to think that TV out = 800x480 => Scaler => TV. WRONG. That is only one of the possible ways you can output signal to the TV. The s-video and LCD outputs are independent of eachother- you can have one image on one screen, and another on the other. So, you can have NTSC...

    Standards

I think some basic standards should be established: -Standards for game and Pandora-specific application binaries to report things back to a UI When called with "--help" or "--etc", like TV-support, if it requires an argument, and what type of files the program can use -Standards at an api...

    Pandora sales

Just wait till tomorrow. We'll have the total # of units. Hey Chip. Btw, I recall you saying that they wouldn't sell out for nearly a month, and to back that statement, you claimed would buy one a day after preorders started. By rate of sales- 2000 in 6 hours- it sounds like you barely got a...

    Sound Quality

Either way the Pandora can decode my favorite codecs - Vorbis and FLAC. Life is good, life is good.

Are you going to develop/port for the pandora?

Inkscape is probably the most notable one I can think of. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inkscape http://www.inkscape.org/

Are you going to develop/port for the pandora?

We will have to bring this topic over to the main forums when they go back up. I can put stuff on the screen, if I have stuff to put there  . The last thing a programmer should have to worry about is how to make a sound for the main menu navigation. You can be a dev even if you cannot...

Will coders have access to the DSP and the PowerVR SGX?

There is a DSP Developer Toolkit for Linux and Open Source projects: https://www-a.ti.com/downloads/sds_support/targetcontent/LinuxDspTools/download.html And SGX access can be done via OpenGL ES 1.1/2.0: http://www.imgtec.com/powervr/insider/sdkdownloads/index.asp#GLES2 The SGX driver is a...

Release apps+utilities making good eyecatchers in the news

For the sake of pretty much everything on that list, lets hope the default DPI settings are well tuned and tested :D .

A Second Batcher has second thoughts...

Sandisk is actually one of the lower quality SD card manufacturers. PNY, Kingston in some cases, and PQI often provide more high quality, high throughput flash memory. I wouldn't worry too much about it either way, though.

Are you going to develop/port for the pandora?

Easy. Beta testing, feedback, suggestions, gathering of resources... there are plenty of things YOU can do to help a developer with a project. All you need to do is ask what to do.

    Multi-Media Capibilities

TI Offers free tools to Open Source developers for DSP use. h.264 and MPEG2/4 are open standards, so you could use the DSP tools to code DSP accelertation into an open source player easily enough. In case you didn't watch the video, TI was, running Linux for their demonstration.

Are you going to develop/port for the pandora?

I'm going to write a fancy SDL GUI library for it, and then use that GUI in my games to allow for efficient multitasking. Example: Easily call a menu to play music while playing a game, stopping in-game music automatically.

Release blender 3d app and winuae

This was discussed in the old forum, and yes there are several developers eyeballing the prospect. More likely than not you will see a port.

    N64 ???

I suspect it would be very difficult and a crown achievement for a developer to get a playable N64 Emulator going on the Pandora. All they need is incentive. This is what the "Developer Fund" for $20 on the Pandora ordering page was all about :D .

    Multi-Media Capibilities

It has been demonstrated that the OMAP3 can do 720p Video using h.264, WMV, DivX, and MPEG2/4 codecs. Here is TI showing off without actually showing anything: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRI0NUaWko8 However the BeagleBoard guys did actually do a demonstration with their Ångström distro of...

    Will Linux Ubuntu be preloaded?

I say keep the Pandora kernel and then give people the option to change the UI to what they want. Ubuntu is nothing more than a logo to stamp on the side of it at this point. I don't see the need to ship Ubuntu when you could just as easily (if not moreso) make the Pandora able to use stuff from...
