Who Here Could Rewrite The Firmware

If it doesn't use cpu power, what does it use?

    Firmware Updates/upgrades

It has always been strongly recommended that the OS NAND is kept to the OS. You should not install any applications onto the NAND. Those should always been installed onto SD cards.

Who Here Could Rewrite The Firmware

Why does the firmware need to be rewritten to do that? And why do you want the firmware to run at 250Mhz anyway? Thats just a waste of battery power. Most applications that require the extra speed will allow you to alter the clock speed within the application.

    Firmware Updates/upgrades

It's already been described that there will be two different types of updates. For the base OS there will be updates handled by a package management system. You'll also be able to download entire images for major updates. For the applications, they will be the PND standard.

    The Power Switch

Thank you for stating the obvious. The Pandora will have lots of switches. Every button on the device is really a switch, as they all have at least two possible states, and since the 'Power' switch is software, the device will never really be 'off'.

    The Power Switch

I thought it was preferred by a lot of people to have a hardware power switch, in case you run software which crashes the device, and also ensures it uses near zero power consumption whilst off.

Will Windows Xp Run On The Pandora?

But, the Pandora can both produce Windows executables and run them, so that wouldn't be technically right ;) Run them to any useful degreee is a different topic altogether, and that'll always be "No" :)

    Geepee32 Running .fxe Games?

No, it doesn't belong in GP2X section either :) I'll move it to GP32 for you and delete the one in the Wiz section. Secondly, Geepee32 doesn't run that many games as it doesn't emulate the hardware fully.

Has Development On Emulators Stopped On Gp2X?

Abandon is too strong a word too I think. Yes, some people will do more on the Wiz than the GP2X, and some might not do any work on the 2X any more. But that doesn't mean that development for the GP2X has stopped. People are still developing for both the GP2X and GP32, just not as many as before.

Will It Be Able To Run Sdxc When It Comes Out?

SDXC is double the speed of SDHC. SDHC has a maximum clock speed of 50Mhz which gives us 24MB/sec, ignoring overheads. SDXC's maximum clock speed is 100Mhz, which would give us 48MB/sec. Of course, thats only transfer speed. If the flash inside isn't capable of 48MB/sec, then your not going to...

    Sdxc Rolling Out From Panasonic

That would be logical. 1.8V signalling @ 100Mhz is fairly typical. Its amazing how SD cards have progressed over the years, and are now as fast as some RAM during transfers. Actually, thats wrong. The maximum size of a card with a 512 byte blocksize is 1GB. The way of calculating the card size...

Will It Be Able To Run Sdxc When It Comes Out?

That would be just plain daft. There's just no reason for it. Everything the SDXC offers can be done using the existing pinout, and it would also prevent SDHC and SDSC cards from working, so they wouldn't do it. SD Org has always used backwards compatible specifications, there's no reason to...

    Hardware. Gp2X F100 & I2C

Use ext pins 22 and 23. Officially they are the UART RXD/TXD pins, but you can remap them in software to be GPIO and bit bang them. No need for soldering then, just a ext connector.

    Pandora Self Assembly

Fine, you'll get your Pandora without a warranty, but it'll still be pre-assembled first, and you'll be charged the same amount for it :)

Will It Be Able To Run Sdxc When It Comes Out?

We already know that to "take full advantage of SDXC" requires new firmware and hardware. It is extremely unlikely that existing hardware will support bus speeds of 100Mhz (the SDXC spec). It's true that its not really a major improvement each time. SDHC comes out and they just change the...

Will It Be Able To Run Sdxc When It Comes Out?

The answer is: Possibly. and if it doesn't, you could possibly patch it easily. or it might possibly need physical modifications (possibly). So, the word is 'Possibly'. We can guess, but not give you a yes/no answer until we have a Pandora and a SDXC card. It's unlikely to work when the...

    Compatibility With Gp2X F-200 Files

Possible, yes, likely, no. The work involved in creating a F200 emulator would be substantial compared to the work required to port the apps.

    How Long Is Reasonably Long?

Yes, there was one. It got deleted, and the poster lost there posting rights for a short while, as the post was off-topic, racist, and reported by the users of the forum as being offensive/objectional content. (Just thought I'd mention that in case the poster is reading this thread wondering...

Caanoo / WIZ Find Serial Number Of Wiz?

You seem to be assigning the contents rather than the pointer. Also, you should be careful about alignment issues. Assign each field seperately rather than trying to use a pointer to a structure.
