Dpads, Whats The Difference (No Flame Please)

I have to concur that the Saturn d-pad is by far the best. Just like the mega drive one, but rubber! Very comfortable and stops the sore thumb.

    Refund Experience?

£300 on a MOTHERBOARD? Did you just decide to get the most expensive i7 board you could find? That's crazy, I felt like my £80 board was a bit expensive when I bought mine.

    Silkscreening

I reckon it's the packaging! Originally they were just going to use silver markers to write addresses on pandoras and attach some stamps.

Idea.. Automatic Pnd Info/install/help? Good Or Bad?

The extra info idea sounds good. Making it appear as the hover-over on desktop icons would be pretty cool, not sure if that's possible.

    The Rabbit Joint

If it's Windows CE, why does that last screenshot look like XP? Confusing, but yeah, if it IS a windows CE thing, expect it to be a pile of crap. I've used one of those Ubisurfer netbook things, all the horrible windows CE software you could imagine in an almost weightless netbook shell!

    Noisy Hot Laptop !

Sure you can replace the hard drive, a 5400RPM should run a bit cooler, avoid seagate drives, as the recent ones are quite noisy in comparison to other brands. I'm not too sure on the heat of laptop brand drives, but on desktop size at least, I've found samsung drives to keep very cool. You're...

Debians netinst installer should be perfect for the laptop with 128MB of RAM, the installer is text based, easy to use, and lets you select from several window managers. I used it to install Debian with Gnome on my SPARCstation 5 with 96MB of RAM, but it's got 8 bit graphics, so didn't need so...

    Noisy Hot Laptop !

You may be able to change some of the fan settings in the BIOS. And the hard drive should be removeable with one or two screws, depending on how it fits in the laptop. It may be worth applying some copper tape to the plain side of the hard drive to help move heat to the case.

Help! We're Getting Older. Is Emulation Dying Off?

    Any Ideas?

A system to view said shared media on? This could easily handle 720p h264 and 1080p if the GPU is any good. Maybe a MAME/Emulation system, could be pretty cool with how small it is. I'm tapped out of ideas, it's pretty tough to think of uses for this thing. As a final one, maybe a computer for a...
