Mame4all Gp2x 1.4

This means that mame4all 1.5 is almost finished?
When we can play Rygar with a perfect sound?
As far as I can see this is the only change to MAME4ALL 1.5 (so far).

The only updates that I can see that needs to be made to Rygar is changing the Z80 CPU from 4Mhz to 6Mhz and tweaking the MSM5205 frequency from 0.384Mhz to 0.4Mhz. I'll make these changes and see what difference it makes.

This will effect the other Tecmo games: Silkworm and Gemini Wings.

Whilst I am at it, any other requests?

It's true :( . I'm coding all the day in my work for several months, and i have little motivation to continue coding in my spare time... I have only tried to optimize the YM2151 without success...

I know that's hard, but my wishlist is so short :)

To gain more speed in Mexico86, i can't play it in full-speed, even with overclocking it to 265mhz! Obviusly with sound (also if 11khz!). Maybe I'm missing some tweaks to gain speed?

Does that mean you won't be doing any more updates to GP2X? What about mame for wiz?

Hmm... does it support FeMAME? If not, how about adding it in?

I really love that frontend, and which is why I still use MAMEGP2X. I only use MAME4ALL for the new games.

I see what you mean. DrZ80 isn't compatible either. Its just hangs.
Make sure you have RAM Tweaks set to ON. That can help a bit. My GP2X only clocks to 250Mhz and i'm only getting less than 30fps in-game. Not sure what else to suggest.

It's a pity DrZ80 isn't 100% compatible!

Well...there's always the Wiz haha. Slaanesh do you plan on getting one or are you just going to get a Pandora? I would love to see how this latest version of Mame4All runs on the Wiz. It's already amazing on the gp2x, but I'm sure there would be a decent improvement on the Wiz.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to MAME on the Wiz - seeing as it's more "vertical-game-friendly" than the Pandora will be, it's even got an advantage over it in that respect :)

I don't use GP2X for mame (not yet anyway) but I remember a while ago someone saying that Empire City: 1931 was running slow, will it be possible to get it to full speed in MAME4ALL 1.5?

I'm getting both the Wiz and the Pandora. Both are paid for, waiting for delivery. :)

I'm also looking forward to see MAME on both of these.

I'm hoping support and updates will still be made for GP2X-F100 & F200 users.

Hiya slaanesh, thank you for your reply. I noticed too that DrZ80 isn't compatible, and I forgot to mention that I play Mexico86 with ram tweaks on. Without sound the games is almost full-speed, but I like to play with sound obviusly :)

Maybe I overstimated the power of gp2x, mexico86 is lacking power to emulate that game. We'll see wiz or pandora for mexico86 fullspeed :D

Good old Empire City. There's a problem with the driver in used by MAME4ALL. It's supposedly fixed later on so it should be possible to correct the issue.
I'll have a look at it when I get a chance.

As for Mexico City, it's one of those games that looks innocent enough but it has 4x CPUs and FM sound hardware to emulate. Amazing really for what appears to be such a simple game.

I'm sure if DrZ80 was compatible it would be at 100% speed.

Has anyone figured out why some vector games don't work? Some like Armor Attack just show a black screen even though the sound is working.

Are there any others? I think armour attack doesn't work because of a funny requirement for the artwork. Make sure you have that in place.

Hey guys
I have a request!! if there is any chance I would love to have Irems "In the Hunt" playable with sound... Its a great game!! :)
Sound will kill it on the GP2X, sorry. You will have to wait for Wiz/Pandora to enjoy this in it's complete form.

You can underclock "In the Hunt" fairly well though.

The real machine is supposed to have 9Mhz CPU but MAME4ALL has them down as 18Mhz. Now this could just be a clock speed division, but I've tried underclocking by 50% and it still seems to work quite well.

Like you said, nice game.

There are others but I can't remember now. I think Starcastle and Solar quest may be the others.

Now Gauntlet and all the other Atari 68000 games should work much faster with Cyclone enabled. And the GP2X version beats the pants off the GP32 version again, like I was expecting :)

Are all the Atari 68000 games full speed, 0 frameskip with sound now? Do you need to overclock? I'm especially interested in Gauntlet as it is my favourite arcade game.

With some overclock (225Mhz), Gauntlet runs really well with 16500hz sound.
Check it out, it's worth the while. And of course make sure you select Cyclone ASM core in the options.
