LOTR 3

I don't see what the big deal is. The books was lousy and thefirst two movies was just about worth a theatre ticket. I doubt ROTK is worth much attention at all imo.

lotr rocks...
i loved the books and the movie is also very good, didnt saw the 3part yet, but i heard :( that the last war at the home of the hobbits, isnt in the movie :(
ok still a great movie

PS: dont know the english name for the lands of the hobbits, in germany its called Auenland...

I saw it last night and was completely bowled over by it. Never seen such a spectacle on the big screen in my 32 years of cinema going. The cinema was overbooked so I had to sit on the stairs (with about 20 other people!) but the discomfort didnt even register I was so glued to it.
The audience in the cinema applauded when the credits started rolling, something I have never seen before! This is the reserved and very british movie going public we are talking about....applauding a film??!
My only sour point is what now have I got to look forward to at the cinema...Harry Potter 3, Star Wars 3....like a poor pudding after a fantastic meal.

Watched it yesterday at the biggest screen in the region... whoa :)

I also disliked the first two, but this is not only the best of the lot, it redeems the whole series. As the definitive film version of the classic books, it sure does its job well. Massively detailed and varied action scenes, plot twists, ridiculous battling, catchphrases, a drawn-out ending and the long three hour plus size, yet it never feels too long.

Although I found some of the moves and lines in the film a little tacky, almost like a big budget explosion flick, it kept me captivated throughout. A lot of critics panned it for the long ending, but I wanted as many threads wrapped up as possible, and Jackson made me happy :)

Even the wandering hobbits part of the film manages to be interesting thanks to the book's own plot twists. I had only read the first 4/6 books, so this was completely new to me, and amazed me to the end. Watch it even if you didn't care for the first two - you won't regret it.

(notice that I didn't spoil the plot :) Don't see the trailers first, they spoil it, it's much better if you don't know about the story first...)

agreed..LOTR3 easily the best out of all 3 movies. It was Epic and I was dawn into the plot and storyline very easily. I read a few reveiws hee in the US and some said it is comparable to classics like Wizard of Oz and Gone with the wind? Well, I don't know if I really believe that...but personally speaking...it was one of the greatest stories told on film, AND the best film I have ever seen. It blew the Matrix Trilogy out of the water in terms of storytelling and SFx. I was astounded. Mainly because all the CGI they had in the movie, DIDn't appear fake (like in most movies (a.k.a new Star Wars I and II.) I applaud you Peter Jackson. One hell of a Job.

I found this at entmoot.com ... Do not read if you don't know the story already. You have been warned. ;)

Top 20 things to do while watching Return of the King

1. Stand up halfway through the movie and yell loudly, "Wait... where the hell is Harry Potter?"
2. Block the entrance to the theater while screaming: "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" - After the movie, say "Lucas could have done it better."
3. At some point during the movie, stand up and shout: "I must go! Middle Earth needs me!" and run and try to jump into the screen. After bouncing off, return quietly to your
seat.
4. Play a drinking game where you have to take a sip every time someone says: "The Ring."
5. Point and laugh whenever someone dies.
6. Ask the nearest ring-nut if he thinks Gandalf went to Hogwarts
7. Finish off every one of Elrond's lines with "Mr. Anderson!"
8. When Aragorn is crowned king, stand up and at the top of your lungs sing, "And I did it.... MY way...!"
9. At the end, complain that Gollum was offensive to Ethiopians
10. Talk like Gollum all through the movie. At the end, bite off someone's finger and fall down the stairs.
11. When Shelob appears, pinch the guy in front of you on the back of the neck.
12. Dress up as old ladies and reenact "The Battle of Helms Deep" Monty Python style.
13. When Denethor lights the fire, shout "Barbecue!"
14. Ask people around you who they think is the next "Terminator" sent from the Middle Earth of the future to assassinate Frodo Baggins
15. In TTT when the Ents decide to march to war, stand up and shout "RUN FOREST, RUN!"
16. Every time someone kills an Orc, yell: "That's what I'm Tolkien about!" See how long it takes before you get kicked out of the theatre.
17. During a wide shot of a battle, inquire, "Where's Waldo?"
18. Talk loudly about how you heard that there is a single frame of a nude Elf hidden somewhere in the movie.
19. Start an Orc sing-a-long.
20. Come to the premiere dressed as Frank-N-Furter and wander around looking terribly confused.

In what way? Because my taste is not the same as yours?
Yeah, if zider likes cheesy action flicks with no plot then don't judge him. Just kidding dude. I know plenty of people who can enjoy a movie with a good plot but can't get into the whole middle earth fantasy thing. I would have to say your wrong about the books though. Tolkien is an outstanding author. I'll be going to see it tommorow. It reminds me of my good friend Star Wars. And NOT the NEW ONES MIND YOU; I hate the new Star Wars movies. Don't even get me started.
LOTR blew the original star Wars trilogy out of the water
No way. Lucas is a genius. And even though I like LOTOR a lot, nothing can compare to the epic saga that is the ORIGINAL Star Wars Trilogy. Besides LOTOR doesn't have my favorite actor (look at avatar).

LOL Esn, I actually did those.

Also, 'RUN, FOREST, RUN' and 'That's what I'm Tolkien about!' ... pure genius.
