Tv Out Problem

I've had my GP2X for over 2 months, and I just got around to using the TV-out. I bought the cable when I bought the unit, both from play-asia.

I followed the directions for hooking it up, but all I am getting is black and white static. You can see the menu items sort of moving, but it kind of looks like when a VCR or console system is on channel 3 instead of 4. Almost there but not quite. Here is a pic from hooking it up to my vidcap device.

I thought there was something maybe missing, so I plugged it into an RF Converter and then to the TV, but I got the same screen. Do I need to get an S-VHS Female to RCA Male adapter or is it just a bad cable that I need to return?

Thanks in advance.

Does it clear up if you hold the adaptor in and press it front or back?

If so you can try my method in the archive to put a piece of card stock in to firmly press the pins together (some have said that you don't need to do the filing I showed, you can just put in the pit of paper/cardboard).

I had a shotty cable I got, it didn't even work with nubies method, it would always be blury. I tried my creative zen vision and it would work fine(thought I might have had it setup wrong). Its too bad, I don't want to buy anouther cable to test though and I don't know anyone who has one. its kind of sad. I'll probably wait and buy a bob some time.

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried the cardboard, but it did no good. Neither did switching to PAL or cleaning the connectors.

I may just buy another TV-out cable and see if that does the trick.

My tv out cable started screwing up today. If I don't tweak the s-video cable I get a garbage signal. I'll try to tolerate it until I buy a BoB.
