Funny, Pedro also cleans my pool out :blink:
It's funny, the cute names people have for their private parts, heh.

Do you clean your pool out with your penis? Is that entirely sanitary? or comfortable?

(sorry about driving it this far off topic. I'll stop doing that now.)

Don't know about gamefan999, but I let Pedro clean my pool out when I'm out working ( playing on the GP2X that is :lol: )
Isn't that awkward and embarrasing? I mean, having your "pool cleaned" while you're out in public, and all. Still, some people like all sorts of things!

Pedro's never "cleaned my pool", but I suppose if his rates are reasonable, I might be willing to give him a try. How is his rim work? And will he mop up afterwards??

This may appear like a gp2x that has been taken great care of. Unfortunatley becuase of a few accidents, that is not the case. Either way this just proves what a durable and well desinged machine the gp2x really is. Now onto the damage report.

1. Dropped from about 8 feet onto carpet.
I was using it as a light to see at the top of my closet when it slipped out of my hand.
Damage = None.

2. Dropped from about 2 1/2 feet onto solid concreate after bouncing off sheet metal.
I was sittin in one of those gross movie theatre seats watching a movie when it slipped out of my pocket, bounced of the chair siding and then hit the concrete below.
Damage = Battery connection bent in. ( I easily bent it right back out. )

3. Dropped form about 3 feet onto carpet after bouncing off of solid wood.
My frien was handing me the gp2x when it slipped, bounced off the wooden desk and then landed on the carpet.
Damage = Once again none.

I really wish none of this had ever happend but I think it really proves how strong and durable the gp2x really is. I think we all know that if a psp was abused like this with its fragile optical drive it would already have been in the parts bin.

The reason I wrote this was to inform everyone of the gp2x's strength and maybe to encourage some of you to tell some of your own handheld horror storys. :lol:

Here's one to add:
Dropped my GP2X from around 4 foot onto a staircase floor, it bounced, down, every, step, to, the, bottom, and still worked fine after, as EvilDragon will attest to, since he had to reflash the unit after a failed upgrade. Only problems: slightly bent battery contact, joy-cap popped off, both quick fixes though.

:blink: I wouldn't know, I wasn't there at the time, but his rates are reasonable and his performance excellent ( at least that's what my ex-wife says ) :lol:

Accidently dropped my '2X 2-3 times on the wooden floor, nothing ever happened to it thank goodness! :)
I hate dropping things, bad habit of mine.

"SunSpire"

I recently dropped my brand new GP2x about 50 cm into the street and it stoped working. I tried to insert the batteries wich falled out but one of them didnt fit because the battery-connector was pushed in. So i fixed it by pushing it out again and then the battery fitted. But the GP2x still wouldnt start, and when I shake it theres a rattling noise. Anyone know what might be the problem? I suspect something related to the battery-connectors.

I too did nasty things with my GP2X, and was scared more than once that it wouldn't run again. But despite falling of my pocket to hit the floor several times (once when I was on a ladder, with a ciment floor beside) it still looks brand new.

However, my cat killed my GP32, both the GP32 and a mug was on a table, the cat first made the GP32 fall (screen up) and then the mug right on the screen.

The unit's still working, I can make it play MP3, and plan to buy a new screen if I can find one.

Until gamepark started using UPS, fedex would regulaly drop boxes of gp2x's down stairs, out the back of vans, into the sea(!)...

Almost always got them working again.

That's awesome. :lol:

I didn't realize Fedex was that bad, though. :blink:
