Psx4gp2x Public Beta 2 Released.

OMG! Diablo works.

I just played through the first level.

Actually, it's a little slow but still playable. Can't wait for frameskip and sound.... that all this really needs to be a mobile Diablo solution.

If people want to try it out, I used the full rip. No compression.

This is a quality release. Thanks PSX2ALL team! :)
Ah, sweetness! I can't wait to get home and try it myself! Are there any other PS1 action rpgs I should be scouring the bargain bins for?

Nice release!
Gta 2 is close to be playable and some other games run a little bit better or the graphics are totally correct. Very well done.

I'm looking forward to the next beta with the dynarec included, that will be soo nice :)

hmm... Road Rash actually runs slower than with the previous beta o_O
Yeah, and Ridge Racer doesn't seem very fast either.

Does anyone know of a list of the resolutions of PSX games? I seem to remember a cheat in Gran Turismo that allowed you to put it in "high quality" mode (whatever that means, I assume it meant full TV Resolution.)

Edit: Ridge Racer is 2.75MB uncompressed if you just copy the files from the disc and use mode2cd-maker to make it into a .bin file.

I didn't try underclocking the PSX core or overclocking the GP2X (how DO you get back to the settings screen?, I assume Stick plus Select gives me overclock options, but I had frozen the emu on Fskip 8 by that time.)

The menu was slow but graphically awesome and the ingame was like a frame every two seconds, I am beginning to think I did something wrong or that it is a high-res PSX game.

I would post actual FPS but the FPS was off the corner of the screen where I couldn't see it.

Sports Superbike 2 run on best quality oc@275 at 4-5 fps.
this image doesn´t run on last beta.
not playable, but increased compatibility :)
nice work!

Well, I made ISO images from two PS disks I have, can't run both... So, I made .bin images then, using UltraISO util. All is fine now.

Tekken 3
8-10 fps on 300 MHz
7-8 fps on 266 MHz
4-5 fps on 200 MHz

Ridge Racer 4
tested on 280 MHz
Opening movie - 6-10 fps
Loading and menu (even with 3D!) - 18-41 fps
Car select (3D) - 16 fps
Game - 3-6 fps

i tried abes odysee and it was perfectly playable accept for the letters would stay on the screen and overlapp until it just looked like this mash of letters
OC:266
Vsync: i think it was 40 or so
fps: 30 or so
and it may be just me but the volume buttons were l2 r2
oh and thanks for all the work on psx4gp2x ill be sure to donate when i come into some money

WOW! This update is amazing, the opening movie of FF7 runs very well, before it was at 1-2FPS, now its about 35 fps!!!

EDIT: There are scanline-type glitches (while 3d is moving, every other line is drawn or something) but w00t! Its playable! Thankyou!

EDIT2: In battle, the menu selection to pick fight commands and such is black and blank, nothing :(

dude how the hell do you get the opening movie to run at 30 fps??? it runs at 4 fps on my gp2x :S

Set interlace to 0, works perfect then.

Just tried Tetris Plus and Ridge Racer. Tetris Plus runs maybe just shy of full speed, and it looks gorgeous on the GP2X screen. It's nice to see Ridge Racer on GP2X though it's quite slow. I hope this dynarec is everything Zod says it is.. :)

Also, it would be very nice if there were some more clockspeeds available. Mine won't run stable at 266, but I believe it would at 260.

Does this version run with compression? Cause I just tried to run Mega Man X 4, using Pocket ISO Normal Compression from a BIN file, and it didn't work.

EDIT: Woops, never mind, faulty image.

how do we turn on frame skipping?
and how fast are your wipeout copies running. Here I get 8-10 fps in game, at 266mhz and interlace 0.

Rayman still crashes at the Ubi Soft Logo... :(
anyway, great release... cant wait for the Dynarec! ;)

anybody got a ff7 save game that works? gotta get around the lock-up in the beginning of the game.

From my current experiance, all games have worked Perfectly. I'll list when finished.

However, I'm becoming mistrusting of the FPS. It does not seem right. Particually when the interleave is turned on. Wipeout is a good example. Ont 7 interleave, it runs silk smooth. (looks crazy bad) but the fps is only slightly increased.
